I watched it on laptop this morning .. interesting subject as I too have lichen sclerosis  fortunately joking apart I have not closed up despite not being at all sexually.Poor women.
That is a very distressing complaint I have had it since my early 40's.
About time someone talked about it on tv and in the media so we dont have to feel ashamed because no one understands. Great show .  |

Sometimes it actually helps to discuss things for others . Some complaints are extremely distressing and no one in life will discuss it. You feel like you are the only one sometimes I am very grateful that the lady could show her private parts so that others can relate to this horrid complaint.
when It is bad the soreness is indescribable you scratch itch the skin thins and is raw, this is why it fuses. Any one suffering with this will know it takes ages to go to a doc and discuss it, there is no one to talk to It took years 10 sexless ones in my case to get any help at all .So good on them being brave and helping others to realise it can be sorted. |

Cant say its my fav program, but its educational. When you see people with awful skin problems and stuff. I get eczema but compared to other people mines nothing like as bad. |

What truly amazes me is that some people on there have avoided seeing their GO for a long time as they were embarrassed ... and the next step they take is exposing their bits on national TV... it is kind of a huge step, from one extreme to the other. |

what is a GO ? and I saw many people every 3 months where yet another foreign doctor who barely understood english let alone spoke it peered at my bits .. we had many creams and potions that didnt work until i was sent to a vulval clinic specific to my complaint.. and a wonderful caring doctor who sorted the problem. well as best one can as it is on going..It wont go away..will always need to be checked 6 / 12 monthly for pre cancer signs.But for the most part im fortunate.I didnt hear the lady say she was embarrassed she just didnt know how to deal with the situation.I thought her extremely brave. |

I can TOTALLY understand where you are coming from - and just to reiterate I also agree it takes enormous balls to go public, too. I am just surprised that the epople who do have THAT kind of courage find it so hard to seek what appears to me the immediate thing to do..ie see their GP. |

doctors ( many of them ) say oh its thrush .. and never do any more. for years it was thrush they said .. but it got worse when I developed and underactive thyroid . they stuck me on tablets.. It caused a sort of immune attack thing with me. I couldnt bare to be touched . was in pain all the time . so i just gave up and became celibate for ten years. the cream now is good and cleared it up for the most part. most docs have never seen it. so the answer is see a specialist demand further attention. Her doctor had obviously given up on her. poor soul. |
