My contract is on its way out soon, I want to remain with EE but thinking of switching to a Samsung or Google phone which would you recommend more?

Hiding in the shadows

I'm on EE, got the S8+ edge

In fact my last 7 phones have all been Samsung.

I'm a creature of habit, once I find something I like, I stick to it

Im with EE and have had samsungs for the last 10yrs with no problems. I will advise you to look online at what deals are available, then ring EE about upgrading, they will probably offer you a better deal than you can get online and offer a bonus for staying with them.

The one+5 is easily comparable with Samsung. When I bought mine about six months ago I was told it lot of iPhone users were going over to one+. Previously I'd had a Nokia Windows. Would never buy an iPhone as a personal preference, looked at Samsung but wanted to be different. Very happy with it.

It works out cheaper to buy the phone of your choice outright and just get a sim only contract.

This as well, £7 a month gets me 4gb data and unlimited calls and texts
