Some do it for kicks

Some do it because they've nowt else better to do

Some may be shy to the point of never leaving the house and prefer to project the person they wish they could be via the internet

Some may genuinely have mental issues that make them do it

Rather strong words to say that mental illness sufferers(which will effect 1 in 4 people in life) are the sadacts around here.

In any corner of life you will encounter sadacts,but who deems someone to be a sadact ?...the person theirselve ?...or the person calling them a sadact ??!

On a slightly different angle...some of these people may well be sociopaths. I was the victim of two sociopaths who I met on a well known dating site and after researching these people it appears there's a lot of them out there. as they have high sex drives they also like to use online sites like this to manipulate and play people and to obviously get sex. However, as they have no limits, boundaries or sense of right or wrong they have no problem in messing with people. So some of those fakes may well be sociopaths!

What about people that make fake profiles with no intention of meeting. Like women making profiles of men, verifying them from their original profile so they get green ticks and then messaging other women to get their phone numbers and pictures and Facebook details. What would be the driving force behind that sort of behaviour?

Could be anything, when someone is unbalanced they don't need a proper reason, anything could send them off on one.

One friend on here (a guy) has left now, had a woman stalk him for years, caused all sorts of problems... his crime... he shook her hand instead of kissing her cheek when they were introduced at a party, and she decided that he had thought she was too ugly to kiss... he didn't even remember meeting her.

I've reported her and 3 of her fake profiles but nothing will be done.

Even have the messages where she admits who she is and have reported them.
