H&S are going to love me then, lol. I'm making my young nephews a catapult each for Christmas. A proper, bone fide country catapult.

Made my first one when I was 12, and have had one ever since.

I feel sorry for kids these days, life is so terribly weird for them, some factors that govern their life

1. There is a pedo on every street (ask the daily mail/mirror/sun)

2. Cant even go fishing without a rod license and permit

3. Can't go camping on "private property"

4. There doesn't appear to be such a thing as a "youth centre" anymore

5. Its better of they just dont go out.... full stop.

There are now so many rules and regulations for kids its crap, yet people say they are getting fat and lazy, sit on the play-station all day, or hang around on street corners smashing windows.....

Really what the hell are they supposed to do? We have taken away their liberty, sad, rules and regulations, the cost of doing anything (going to the football, ice skating, cinema etc, bloody expensive for kids!)

Don't get me started.....I am sad that the world I grew up in (which had a fair few restrictions but seemed more "fun" has been buried in bureaucracy and the "nanny state"

The HSE dispute this old chestnut categorically insisting it stemmed from a headmaster in Carlisle in 2004 who bought six pairs of industry strength saftey glasses for children to wear while playing conkers.

The HSE go further and add that if one child hits another over the head with a conker on a piece of string then that is a discipline issue, not an H&S issue.
