Where does your cat sleep?

Other than anywhere it damn well pleases, obviously.

There’s nobody in the house during the day and the cat is too young to go out yet. In the morning and evening it gets lots of attention and loves it, all fine.

At night should it be locked in the kitchen or free to roam around the house, chasing shoelaces and terrorising any toes sticking out from the duvet?

We're at home now and I have one as a scarf, snoring next to my ears.

Mrs N is in bed feeling poorly, but has the other kitty on guard duty, right next to her.

I've never shut any of my cats anywhere, ever, and they have all chosen to sleep soundly on my bed all night.

"

Let him/her roam free. You've opened your home to a pet cat. You must understand that YOU are now the lodger in the cats home.

I would never shut my cats in anywhere. They go where they like and follow the sun round the house or sleep on my bed. They don’t particularly like each other so need to be able to use different rooms when they choose.

n the day the cat has free roam, at night it’s shut from the main house because we have a dog too and the dogs scared of the cat! but the cat has a huge dining room, plus 2 more rooms she can access and a cat flap to the garden. The dog can access the lounge and kitchen. Works best for us this way

In the day he sleeps on the stairs, he's a vicious foot attacking bastard. At night he goes out.

During the day he sleeps on the windowsill but goes out via the cat flap.

At night he sleeps on the bed.

His thing at the moment is setting off the robot hoover at 2 in the morning.

during the day she mostly sleeps on a lovehoney cardboard box on my bedroom window sill.

At night, on top of me, but now winter is here, she likes to snuggle under the duvet next to me. She's my little ho water bottle!

At night mine are in a room of there own, only because they dont settle and cry for strokes cause they can be attention whores sometimes so they have several comfy beds and everything they need... they even know there bed time from a clap and all go to the kitchen for treats and sleep.

One chooses to sleep on the bath mat and the other in the towel cupboard.

Snuffy, my little boytiger, roams around HIS flat and merely allows me to dwell here, likes to take mid day naps where ever i like to sit (either my PC chair or my spot on the sofa). But when it comes to bed time he likes sleeping by my feet.

and I wouldnt want it any other way.

Worthing

I have a cat that visits now and again. She sleeps on my bed if I can let her in for a while. Sometimes in lounge.

Mine is firmly locked away at night- apart from access to garden via the cat flap. As much as i'd like to leave the door open, I do some long old shifts some days and the demand for tickles or getting cat snot wiped across my face at 3am can interrupt my much needed snooze time.

One of ours likes to go visiting. The neighbour across the road once went indoors to clean up after working on his car and found her fast asleep on his pillow

My mums cat likes paper or warm laptops when they're closed. You can not wrap presents when he's around cos he lays on the wrapping paper!

Other than that he sleeps in the airing cupboard!

My Own Little World

My daughter's cat sleeps on my son's bed and my son's cat sleeps on my daughter's bed.

My cat is normally on my bed or a chair in the conservatory and only moves for food or a wee, he takes lazy to a whole new level.

But they all get locked Out of my bedroom at night, cos you know the little shits will want to go out exploring at 3am and rip up the carpet trying to get out

My cats had the run of the kitchen, hallway and two living rooms. That was to keep the mice in check. If I did hear a mouse upstairs then they would be allowed up in the bedrooms until it was caught, or buggered off.

My daughter's cat has the run of the flat, but will wee on the floor-or anything on it-if she can't get out to her cat litter. My sister has 4 cats, in a two bedroom flat, and you wouldn't know they were there, most of the time.

My dogs are not allowed anywhere upstairs or in any room other than the hallway, when I'm out. They destroy everything.

Oh, and be prepared for having no cloth on your furniture after a while.

Cats also have a mad midnight hour, where they go darting after non-existent prey, and use your passageway as a race track.

I don't shut mine in anywhere at night but I do shut them out of my bedroom otherwise i wouldn't get any sleep.

They have free roam of the rest of the house but like to sleep on the landing because the heating pipes run under there and it's warm.

couple, us we him her.

Ours have the house during the day and kitchen and dining room at night.

Mainly because they are a friggin nightmare in the night, due to the fact they usually decide around 3am to be very noisy, purry and try to get under the duvet.

One usually sleeps at the foot of the bed, the other by the side of the bed on the floor.

Although they often do whatever they well please to be honest. Now and again they have a mad five minutes at 2am.

We have 6 rescue cats and 2 rescue German Shepherds. The cats are free to roam anywhere in the house but the dogs are only allowed downstairs as they are too big to share our bed.

4 of the cats sleep in the bed with us, 1 sleeps in the 'cat bedroom' in the hammock of the ceiling high cat tree and the last 1 sleeps cuddled into the 2 dogs.

There is always a cat wrapped around my hubby's head and 1 tucked into my tummy. The other 2 sleep between us for maximum heat.

My hubby knows that if the bedroom door is closed when he comes out the shower at night that he's getting lucky ...

My 2 do as they please. Sometimes they will both sleep at the end of the bed. Other times they just pick a random patch on the floor. One at the moment is usually enjoying a space at the bottom of the stairs. I don't think either of them have used the cat bed I bought not sure where they are currently, probably living it up trying to catch presents on the field
