Sorry I meant to say all the mods are not herded into a collective and made to sit at a table while everyone else shuns them/pokes fun at them/ throws buns at them.  |

I was an op on another site and they gave us a special hat to wear cause we're mean and have buttons! 
Seriously... I was a member first and foremost and that was my priority right the way through my stint as a chat op. I loved the banter and didn't really do the ban thing... I think if you treat people like adults regardless of their behaviour then you can sort most stuff out without resorting to the ban button. I didn't have any issues at social events because I helped out the site on a voluntary basis. It made no odds to me either way. I always found it a bit strange that people wanted to fuck me purely because I was a chat op. What's that all about? There's no kudos on fucking a volunteer, it doesn't win you favours or special treatment. Weird! |

hang on.. i am still trying to work out why on earth mods for example wouldn't go to social and clubs..
are they suppose to just to sit on their own and not talk to anyone...
just seems a curious question as they would presumably be members first and foremost and then mods after that...  |

I am a mod on a (non-adult) website, and we arrnaged a couple of socials... It was quite good fun when you're talking to people quite happily, then they realise who you are... For a few seconds, then they realise you're just another enthusiast... just with MORE POWER lol |

Of course not....I can't see people mixing with those big nasty mods who happen to stop their threads or take their posts off or god forbid ban them for breaking rules in chat etc....I am almost certain they would be sat in the corner all alone with only their mod buttons to play with.
