What’s the worst thing you have ever eaten?
Mine has got to be fermented shark in Iceland. The smell of ammonia was up my nose for hours.
Sea urchin is pretty disgusting too. |

I actually really want to try that!
But for me - porridge - it is the devil's own food. |

Some of my favourite things are in this thread - cheese, marmite, creme brulee, mushrooms, liver - yum
The worst thing I've ever eaten is probably something my mum cooked. That, or a vegetable .... |

Iceland, but Aldi is closer.. |
No self respecting icelandic eats rancid shark, it's what they serve to unsuspecting tourists and charge a small fortune for it! Not a bad little earner really..
Durian fruit is pretty nasty, could never get past the smell of sick and rotting flesh. |

Oysters.
I'm allergic to sea food (fish and mushrooms).
Bloke took me to Brighton. He ordered a bowl of oysters at 40 quid a pop because he was a pretentious twat and insisted I wasn't allergic and that if I tried them I'd like them really.
I did. They were like snot and horribleness.
I then projectile vomited all over him.
There's a moral there. |

Rotten sharks fin as part of the Viking challenge in Iceland
Even the thought of it makes me bowk now
Washed down with a glass of brenevin - at the time it was heaven sent but I've had it since and that was howling too
If you are not aware the rotten fish fizzed on your tongue
The aftertaste still haunts me |

Most Icelanders eat fermented shark.
I had forgotten how revolting durian fruit is. It is still not as bad as the shark though. |

Many, many moons ago I ate one of those maize onion ring snack things then had a bite of apple. Decades later I still shudder when I remember how vile that taste combination was. I've eaten many weird things but that is without a shadow of a doubt the most disgusting taste I have ever had in my mouth. |

"Cow foot. My dad said try it. Think he forgets i'm not Jamaican and was born in England
Cow foot isn't bad. I don't see the appeal with it though! "
I really didn't like it. That's the worse I've eaten though. I tend to stay away from tings I'm not sure of. Boring me |

I really like sea urchin!
The Icelandic fermented shark i.e. allowed to decompose, quietly, in a hole on the beach, was a little too much.
I'll raise you Nepalese dried buffalo; the meat is great but, if you get a piece with a layer of fat, ......

A mouldy stale piece of raw cheese I was forced to eat by an evil dinner lady when I was in primary school that has seen me not eat raw cheese for around 45 years (although did recently try a piece of Red Leicester that was very nice) |

What's raw cheese? It's a bit like raw butter is it? |

Cheesecake. I keep trying different ones, because my daughter demolishes them, saying how lovely they are. Haven't found one I can eat two spoonfuls of yet. |
