I just think that all men that live alone tend to be slobs and not really into the cleaning thing that us women do..

I'm hoping i'm proved wrong, but im only going on past experiences of men i have encountered.

S c'mon men,, how many of you own a pinny and some marigolds?

I love my marigolds!

I'm usually pretty clean and presentable but I have to admit to a few slips now and then.

There is a weird kind of satisfaction after a good cleaning session though.

I usually put on "Everything Must Go" by the manics and clean to that - good cleaning album.

I even iron too

I'd probably need to take a week off in order to get my house to a presentable state to invite guests round!

Cheaper and far less stressful to meet at Travelodge at 9GBP a night!

hmmm - lot of my mates wot are single and alone are scruffy swamp donkeys who have at least one room which smells strongly of milk/bleach/sweat/fish or any mixture of those but that probably sez more about the company I keep. However, being cursed with a hint of OCD I tend to be scrupulously clean to the point of being anal about it. Sharing with a mate and significant other + their kid it helps that I am like this. In fact Im pretty sure thats why they let me stay with em

sweeping generalisations aside, some of the dirtiest, skankiest dossholes I have been in have been lived in by single women or two girls sharing.... in fact I remember an ex living with a female friend whose room was awash with clothes - mostly dirty - dirty plates, half eaten food, a couple of sticky skanky tissues, used condoms and even a used tampon. We never ate ANYTHING she cooked

Bullshit, myself and my 3 male housemates are quite fastidious.

Over the last year we gave a flaking window ledge and stairwell a lick of paint, oiled all door handles and hinges, replaced two broken window handles, fixed a broken washing machine and generally keep the place we rent really neat.

There's not even usually more than a handful of pieces of cutlery next to the sink needing to be cleaned.

This in by the way, in a house we rent.

And no, none of us are gay or in need of psychology therapy, it's likely something to do with the fact we're all INTJ or INTP on the Myler-Briggs.

I've seen more than a few witch's nests in my time so I suspect there's social equality of lazy slobs among the sexes.

I am the worlds worst at housework... cant see the point half the time as the kids just mess it back up again

But Master expects a tidy house.. so now it all has to be listed and done by a certain time.. funny, having to be so organised has made me better at it..

I enjoy it being more organised but certainly dont enjoy cleaning house lol

Although when I have a nice car I get very ocd about it.. and actually will sometimes wipe a dirt speck off it when I park up before going into Asda.. lol

If I could treat my house the same as I do a nice car I would have a show home.. but then my kids dont go in my car when I have a nice one. unless its a car show.. then they have to sit on plastic sheeting and they know better than to touch the windows.. lol

I have found its not a sex thing for cleanlinesses but more an age thing. People who are more mature have a better attitude to hygiene and cleanlinesses where as people in their teens or early 20's just don't seem to bother the same. Maybe its upbringing or more likely something you learn to do with time.

I am the only female in the house and I do the majority of the housework. I am a very tidy person and I like cleaning. I do accept help from the male occupants from time to time but they don't clean to my specifications so I go over it again anyway.

I get moaned at for throwing away peoples stuff but I can't stand mess. Whilst I have lots of clothes, shoes, make up, toiletries, accessories etc, I am very minimalistic in relation to furniture and ornaments.

I have an obsession with limescale and I do look at peoples loos to see if they have it. we meet in hotels if its a one on one meet yet I still look down the loo, I can't help it.

The men in my life are not as good at cleaning as I am

Way I see it is this- you can square clean a room, where you start at the sides and move it all- or you can round clean a room- where you clean round everything!

i can cook too.

I'm clean to the point of being OCD about it. I hate clutter and dust everywhere it just plain irritating.

My young son thinks it's his role in life to destroy our living room within half an hour of being awake - and I tidy his stuff away several times a day. I know he'll just get it out again but I can't stand looking at a toy-strewn floor for too long.

Can't stand a dirty toilet either, and it should be wiped clean after each person uses it.

The kitchen is MY domain and siren often gets a tongue lashing for leaving a crumb-laden chopping board when she's made herself some toast and eats it before cleaning up after her, whereas I clean up THEN enjoy my toast, sandwich etc.

Most people just clean round stuff- square cleaning is where you move everything that isn't nailed down or likely to cause a hurnia and clean it!

I'm quite a houseproud person, and manage to keep the place neat and tidy (although the fact I'm hardly ever home means there's less cleaning to be done, dusting and vaccing are the biggest jobs really).

The thing that bugs me though is that I've got the downstairs of the house not far off bob-on with decorating and accessorising, but just haven't had time to sort the upstairs out yet so get a tad ashamed of it tbh And yet these rooms feature in some of my pics, oh the shame! I'm hoping that not many notice the theme choices of the previous owner, a sweet old dear who probably made lovely gingerbread but would infuriate the bejesus out of Laurence Llewelen-bowen! At least some pics show the downstairs too where everything is more my style...

My favourite FWB is so tidy I reckon he might have OCD. I, however, am a complete slob so the stereotype doesn't really fit always.

I'm good with the important stuff - the bathrooms always clean and so is the kitchen. and though i have cats you'd never get a cup of tea with a cat hair on the rim!. the carpets are always fit to be walked on in bare feet and bedding is spotless. but when it comes to dusting the bookshelves i'm with quentin crisp on this one - after 6 years it stops getting any thicker...
