We're going to stay in Glasgow for the week end, the week end after next, can anyone suggest places to visit both during the day and for some nightlife, somewhere nice to eat too ??

I used to live in Glasgow....if you're into rock, metal, goth I recommend the Cathouse which is right outside the Central train station. That's where I spent a lot of my teenage years, from what I know it's still there.
I haven't been (you never go to things on your doorstep do you) but have been told, that the School of Art is amazing as well as the Tearooms, particularly if you're into the arts & crafts & art nouveau movements.
Sauchiehall Street is the Glaswegian equivalent of Londons Oxford Street.
Glasgow is GREAT for shopping. |

I'm not disputing Sauchiehall St, but Buchanan St is the place these days, I'm sure I read very recently that it had even won an award!!
Princes Sq too, which is off Buchanan St. |
