I talk to them if that what you mean.
But I'd never lead anyone in with no intention of following anything through.
Compliments and just general chit chat maybe. |

I (Mr) tend to respond to status comments, those that make me laugh I will tell them so, why not? It usually makes the poster feel pretty good too if they don't reply it's no great shakes either.
I did reply to status post that was a bit of a misunderstanding. We ended up having a bit of a chat and the poster being invited to share a bottle of wine with us if she was going to an event in our area next weekend. I had always liked her style, strong women the put up with no nonsense type, seems she has more in common with us than I thought. Hope she goes to the event. |

I certainly would and do - just because the underlying idea behind the site is meeting for NSA sex, doesn't mean that friendships and bonds can't develop that sit outside of that premise - although I do understand why some people would be wary of giving the wrong impression by sparking a conversation in that way. |

Thats actually how I got involved in the forums, I messaged someone to say great profile even though they are the other end of the country 
They were very gracious and we had a chat and they told about the wonderful world of fab forums

Some one messaged me the other day to say thank you after I stuck up for them in a forum post. I wasn't expecting it but it was a nice thing for her to do and it made me feel appreciated. I will hold onto that feeling and do it myself if it's appropriate. It doesn't matter if there's no other intention it's nice to spread a little friendliness. |

Surely everything starts with words so I do send and do receive messages from peeps everywhere, conversations are good, especially those that put a smile on your face for whatever reason  |

It is very rare that I initiate messaging, speculative messaging women and couples seems utterly pointless, even when I match everything stated on their profile and then send a clearly bespoke response it's almost unheard of to get a response. Therefore virtually all of my site messages are with people who have messaged me. A large percentage of people I am never going to meet but depending on what they have said I often respond as quiet alot of them are privately asking about one or other of my kinks. |

Yes I do like you sometimes mail to say I like your pic or pfrofike, I most likely won’t meet with most of the people I chat to due to distance & time but there’s no harm in being social that said I can’t and don’t talk to everyone that message. |

I complimented someone on their legs once. He never responded.
Just because I compliment someone on their legs does not mean I fancy a roll in the dark with them. Add to that, I VERY rarely arrange meets on Fab, and I don't meet people outside London anyway. I'm quite happy to message, no more than that.

I do sometimes for a variety of reasons - just a social chat, to expand on forum discussions, possibly offer advice, encouragement, or something else - it's always clear it's not about sexual interest in them. |

Often message people I have no plan on meeting or at least going for a 'meet' with. Sometimes they're out of my league and sometimes I natter with an intent to meet socially and nothing more. Tends to be with forumites or in a response to a status though. |

Never, anyone I message I have full intention of meeting even if it’s for a social...
If the profile isn’t full enough, the pics don’t show the person as whole or there is anything that makes me raise an eyebrow in a bad way then I won’t send a message!!!
Vague profiles and close up pics aren’t a ‘tease’ they’re just shit :D |

Distance is a killer. Not something that interests me. However I think sending a random compliment to a guy that somehow stands out from the rest, is a nice welcomed gesture. |

No but a single guy messages us frequently and we chat have a laugh, talking about everything under the sun. We made it clear at the start that we wouldn't meet him and he is happy with that. |
