Get on google mate, it will all be on there.
There will also be people in the streets trying to get you in to ping pong shows etc. Get a taxi to Khaosan Road and see where the night takes you. Oh, and make sure you tell the taxi to use the meter or they will fleece you.
Personally I hated Bangkok, but then agian Im not for the hussle and bussle of the city. We spent 2 months in Thailand for our honeymoon but spent most our time on Koh Phangan.
The people are friendly and its a beautiful country. If you want any other info message us.

Thanks for the tips. I'm only in Bangkok for a couple of nights and then travelling north to Chaing Mai before heading south to one or two islands, Koh Lanta and another yet to be decided but generally staying away from the typical tourist trail. |

Best thing to do,man. Get out and exprience a different culture properly. Chaing Mai is definitley worth a visit. Samui wasnt for us as its very touristy. My sister lived on Phi Phi which is nice, same with Ko Tao but it has had some bad press recently. |

"Going to Thailand in 3 weeks. Any ladyboy tips? Good bars they hang out, no pun intended!"
Three most popular red light districts in Bangkok: Soi Cowboy and Patpong, easy to find from Sukhumvit station and Nana Plaza (Nana Skytrain stop).
Never been to Patpong but the other two have specific ladyboy bars.
Enjoy. |

A useful phrase for you (pronounced) Kuhn Saway Chang. Means 'you are beautiful'. I'm sure the ladyboys are gonna love you.
Chan Rak Kuhn (means 'I love you') |

Patpong was the best in the 80s – three times as big as the other two, but is now not worth visiting.
The other two are both off Sukhumvit (a long, long road). NEP is on Soi (street) 4, and Cowboy runs between Sois 21 and 23. They are about a mile apart, and the walk along Sukhumvit odd-side between them is quite interesting after about 10 o’clock in the evening. Get a taxi to Soi 4, but get out at the traffic lights at the entrance. The soi is a narrow dead-end taxi trap. Just follow the crowd for about 20 mtrs to the Nana Entertainment Plaza on the left. To get to Soi cowboy, follow the crowd back to Sukhumvit, and cross the road to odd-side at the lights. Turn right, and you’re on the way. Watch for the Westin Grand Hotel and Terminal 21, which are on opposite corners of Soi 19. Cross the next Soi, 21, at the lights and turn left. Cowboy is about 20 mtrs along.
If it’s not too late, book your room in an hotel on Sukhumvit odd-side between Sois 3 & 21. I use the Honey on 19. There are a couple of reasonable ones on Soi 11.
I’ve written a beginners’ guide, which has a paragraph on katoeys (ladyboys) and a map. I’ll send you a copy if you let me know your email address. You’ll hit the ground running!

Thailand has ladyboys all over, many have had full sex changes, within BKK you will have bar workers, in the areas noted by others, you will have freelancers walking the streets, Pattaya has shows they can be met after, Chiang Mai has bars of them, every island has them, really all they want is your money !!, I first visited Thailand in 82 spending two times three weeks each year, have not been back since 2008 my wife's Thai these days we visit other places but loads of mates visit yearly, the down side is the exchange rate these days |

"These days we visit other places "
Go and have a look!
There have been many changes, including a new airport near Bangkok and the skytrain system. But much is still the same, like the queue at immigration! |
