So next month I turn 46 and realise I will now fall outside a lot of potential meets preferred age range and I wondered as you got older fabsters should you adjust your preferences or stay optimistic that people will want to meet you |

yes but as a realist I also realize that I'm maybe now not going to get to meet those in the lower age spectrum of my preferences so I might need to raise it to a more sensible age expectation

Your currently 45 with your lowest preference set to 18. When you turn 46 would you still like to meet with someone of 18? If you would then leave it, but if you wouldn't then change it.
I really can't see that your preferences will change overnight just because it happens to be your birthday.

Wait till you get to 61 you,ll have a lot less to choose from.  |

My preferences haven't changed but being a realist I realise that the 18 to 30 age group haven't been knocking my door down and most of my meets have been in the upper bracket |

I don't really have an age preference. I just picked the ages as similar to people I've met before.
There's many people within the age range that I wouldn't want to meet, but also some outside the range that I'd want to meet.
I'm not optimistic that anyone would want to meet me so it's actually irrelevant.  |

As I age up I put my lower age up. Not now cos it's set at 99 to stop messages but I have 30-44 normally. If anyone out of those age ranges Fab a picture and they look like someone I want to meet I'll just fire them a message myself.
If I was over 40 I wouldn't have my lower age range at 18 though. It actually puts me off if I see a guy has 18 as their lower age range as well. |

My preferences have definitely changed with age.
There are very few women under about 25 that I'd fancy nowadays whereas once upon a time I'd have thought a 40 year old was border line ancient.
I'm quite relieved this has been the case as clearly all those youngsters would now consider me ancient too!  |

I've not noticed age makes a difference on here but regular dating type sites have gone cold for me at 48/49 |

It's your preferences OP adjust them as you see fit - whilst there may be some whose age preferences you fall outside as you get older, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it so no point worrying about it.
At 52, there are still plenty who don't consider me over the hill and I respect the preferences of those that do  |

Unless injury stops me I'm determined that in 10 years time and beyond I'll still be hitting the gym hard and continue to be in good shape for my age, it's all about making the best of yourself! I'm 35 and a few weeks back on a night out I had a gorgeous 19 year old girl fawning over me and telling me how much she likes older men, she was a bit young for me (prefer around 23 - 35ish) but I was flattered |

When I was 18 I was engaged to a 36 year old ... and was with him for 3 and a half years |

46 is the inbox killer age mate, nothing you can do about that, apart from opening a new profile with your age set lower (as others in here do). Apart from that, enjoy those willing to not instantly write you off as ‘over the hill’ |
