Well I never, I just learned that it is a food myth that peppers’ heat lies in the seeds.
Many recipes using hot peppers often suggest that you can make the dish less spicy by just removing the seeds before adding the pepper to the recipe. However, the seeds actually contain very small amounts of capsaicin, the substance that gives peppers their heat. The highest concentrations are found within the white membranes of the peppers, which is where the seeds are. The seeds themselves aren’t hot, but they’re often coated in capsaicin because they sit within the membrane.
Any other myths that you’ve unearthed, food or otherwise....? |

Are they disappointed that it’s only the Royal Family with the blue blood, when you set them straight? |

No cheese on burgers lol "
Incorrect answer. Cheese is the single most important thing, ever. |

Never once heard people think that, it sounds ridiculous. Even a 4 year old knows the color of blood right? |

Maybe you’ve not heard it because you don’t work in her specific job... |

Thought blood was slightly less red until it was oxygenated. Hence the bluer tinge to surface veins. |

No it's always red. It looks blue as light has to penetrate the skin to illuminate them and it's to do with how the different wavelengths of light do this (I think!) |

Maybe I work with 4 years olds! But it's still a common myth with adults too |

Thanks Google
Your blood is actually always red! Blood in your veins has very little oxygen and is a dark red color that looks almost blue when covered by your skin. Your arteries have bright red blood because it has a lot of oxygen in it that is being carried throughout your body to be used by tissues |

Yes you are quite correct. Oxygenated blood is bright red, deoxygenated is dark red. Your veins appear blue because red light is filtered by skin and fat, leaving the blueish light to be reflected |

Capsicum is good for activating brown fat which is good for helping burn white fat.

"Eating fats make you fat.
? I cut fat from my diet only and lost a lot of weight. Just cutting fat..lost several stone"
That's likely because you were eating less calories. Fat has 9 cals a gram where carbs and protein are only 4cals/g
The reason fat has a bad rep is mainly due to the calorific content, not the fact it's fat. You could talk about nutrient timing etc however calories rule with regards to bodyweight.
On the subject of myths. There's no such thing as an essential carbohydrate. Entirely unnecessary to eat them at all.

Did you track calories before vs after? Unless you have some digestive issues that mean you can't extract cals from carbs then you ate less calories, The law of thermodynamics is absolute. |

Oh I'm so glad you wrote that, I am too full after a massive lunch and my brain couldn't form the words...
We humans digest and utilise good fats so much better than carbohydrates...
Obviously not today for me though... |

An otherwise myth. John Lennon never said, and I'm paraphrasing. Which I think makes me an oxymoron. Ringo isn't the best drummer in the world, he's not the best drummer in the Beatles. |

Actually Fab undid this one for me a while back - for years I've rolled out the 'fascinating fact' that the phrase 'cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey' came from the Navy and how they would use a ring called a "brass monkey" to hold the cannon balls in place ready for firing and when it got really cold the ring would contract to the extent the balls would roll off it - load of baloney apparently and scientifically impossible |

really. If you're thirsty enough to drink 8 glasses of course you should. However the fluid in food such as fruits and other drinks counts towards your required intake. |
