"Big boxing fan but wouldnt pay for it. Fighting a journeyman late replacement and Sky still asking for 20quid....not for me ."
He wasn't exactly a late replacement, he was preparing for the fight for the same amount of time as Pulev. If anything this made it harder for AJ as he initially thought he was fighting someone else. |

Pulev wouldn't have lasted as long and to call Takam a journeyman is just wrong. It was a poor stoppage, but was a good scrap, would have rather watched that than Joshua blow him out in 3 rounds. |

Yeah, Takam has a decent record.
Showed he had a granite chin |

Disagree mate. He was originally scheduled to fight the no.1 contender for his belt. This guys record didnt merit a shot at the world title. From what i read, he put up a decent fight, but cant see how this replacement makes it harder for AJ. |

Think the comment is based on how styles make fights and Takam being a powerful, come forward, inside fighter with a granite chin would have been a different proposition to most, including Pulev. Very much like Glen Johnson when he went though his round of fights with Clinton Woods, RJJ and Tarver. |

He was rated 1 place behind Pulev in the IBF, so was next in line after Pulev dropped out. Neither has any really good names on the record they've beat. Pulev is slow, cumbersome and easy to hit and Takam is quick with loads of head movement and a granite chin. It goes down a KO, but Joshua wasn't even close to actually knocking him out. If he fights Pulev somewhere further down the line he'll beat him alot quicker in better fashion. |
