Im out for the night fishing for carp while Her is at home. Got my bed set and Im lying here patiently and having a browse.

So I was wondering is there any keen anglers on here?

Not a carp man but used to do a spot of trout fishing when there was anything worth catching in the local streams.

I must admit, I never say the appeal of sitting by a stocked lake just waiting? I'm sure I'm missing something though

I spent the whole of the last Christmas holidays in the bivvy...guess what...yes I blanked. Not a carp to be seen,in fact I didn't see anyone. It was just me and the two dogs,we had the lake to ourselves. It was the best Christmas I'd had in years.

Hope the wind isnt making the alarms sing.

I use to course fish years ago, then went on to fly fishing which was far better, also done sea fishing off Anglesey once...... which was nice.

Done a bit of course fishing and carping in the past but only really fly fish now, I prefer being on the move.

Well it was a blank and a good nights kip for me, was asleep by 21:45.

I get why carping is not for everyone, I started as a match angler so see it from both sides, but for me, I enjoy being out under the stars with a bit of alone time away from everything. I like the solo nights and try for one a week.

Strangely enough i have never been sea or fly fishing but its on the to do list
