So I've just been for a run. I do it once a week on top of everything else because I find it helps my legs feel better for a game of rugby.
Every single time I finish and just think to myself, 'I thought it was supposed to get easier?' It never does though.
So do you enjoy it? If you do when did you actually start enjoying? Feels more like self flagellation at this point. |

I hate running. I am not a natural runner, I do not make it look easy. Even when I was half marathon fit (for a very short period of time) I still looked and felt like a squishy tomato.
Luckily running OCR, I can get away with a basic running capability as long as I make up for it in other ways. |

Hate it. Even when I used to fight as a kid I used to hate it. I knew it was a necessary evil but I remember asking my coach one day why I was running as surely I was learning to fight so I didn't have to. |

I love it and hate it in equal measure! I generally hate it while I'm doing it, apart from the very rare times when everything seems to flow really well and it feels like I can actually do it! But I love the feeling after I've completed a training run...there's nothing like it! Trail running is different, I generally enjoy those kind of runs much more than pounding the pavements.
Above all, the endorphin buzz alone is worth the effort and pain! Trouble is, it makes me ridiculously horny...anyone else find this?

Plus I have asthma and while if I keep on running I recover quicker I always sound like a sex pest as I run down the cycle path. I get so self conscious. People should need to get to know me before they find that out. |

Love running, have a look (or just google it) at Chi running, it takes a while but it does get easier. Run a couple of Marathons and quite a few half’s 10ks etc..but a knee injury ruined this year and I’m back at the start (previously was running between 15-20 miles a week) trying to build up to 5k |

"Nope. Even in my army days I feckin hated it. People who run for fun are strange creatures. " oi!! I love it. It's fitness, therapy and stress relief and a buzz all in one. Can't beat running trails. And yes it's hard but with persistence comes the rewards. Keep at it |

"I love running, my knees aren't so keen I used to especially love running in the rain."
Age has got to be annoying when you want to do thing that this weak human body can't. My speed has gone when running sprints, but I've still got the long distance in me. |

Are you calling me old? I was never a sprinter, and now long distance is all but out of the equation. More commonly found in the pool now.
Nice to hear you've still got stamina T |

Hate it now. Probably did too much of it when I was younger, or it could be I’m too lazy now. Hahaha...
Love off-road mountain biking though.... nothing better than going out into hills and doing 30-50km in beautiful surroundings |

"Yes I do. Love it in fact. It my me time. Peace and quiet. Earphones in and hitting the roads. "
The roads you say? That sounds like a recipe for disaster. How can you hear anything, i.e. traffic, or even a pushbike wit a bell on it? |

I keep the music low. The term hitting the roads is a figure of speech. |

And is that stamina from running or more Fab based pursuits? |

"In my opinion there are only 2 good reasons to run.
1. Towards food
2. Away from the police
What if the police you were running away from had food........?
"
Do you mean the tins of beans I would be hurling at them to aid my escape? |

"So I've just been for a run."
The OP has, in the true sense of the season, become one of the recently departed.
For everyone else, I remind you of some of the 32 Rules of post-apocalypse Zombieland:
1. Cardio
To escape a pursuing zombie you will need to out-run it, and this means being in good shape.
7. Limber Up
Before going into a zombie-infested area, you will need to prepare for the impending running by limbering up.
11. Enjoy The Little Things
As well as surviving all the zombies, you'll also need to maintain a happy and sane state of mind by keeping positive.
So, look behind you and RUN!

The key is to relax into it let your legs run and get your head up and look around you will notice loads of things you never would have. I need to train for london |

I hate the gym so I run. Love it especially now on crisp bright mornings. Nothing like being on your own clearing your head of the days stresses and worries.
Strap boobies down with 2 sports bras and a crop top and I'm good to go |

I hate it, randomly punish myself by giving it another go, hate it all the way round but feel ok at the end having done it.
SSS on the other hand is a brilliant and keen runner, unfortunately didn’t get into the marathon next year but will probably do a few shorter more local races.
One of the few things we have a different opinion on!

Love it. Wandering around country lanes early on a Sunday morning with the sun shining is a wonderful way to spend some time.
I use it to clear my head too - very therapeutic |

"I lie being a runner but I don't always enjoy running. A lot of sessions are simply a means to an end"
I’ll agree with that though - you are 3 or 4 miles from home and just have to grit your teeth and plug away until you’re done |

Once a week is your problem, you'll never get used to it like that. Three times a week at least then you'll feel the benefit and it'll get more comfortable |

I did mean stamina for running, but if the shoes fit. |

excessive running for the sake of running is pointless and produce the opposite results most are trying to achieve leaving you exhausted, fatigue and burnt out which could lead to chronic injuries. if you are trying to lose weight running is not the optimum way to go about it however if you are looking to build stamina maybe as long as you don't overdo it. |

it was fun when you were a kid because it was usually incorporated into games. Like tig or kiss chase. Then someone told you that was immature and you weren't allowed anymore. Now it's just for boring reasons. Cycling is more fun . Or swimming |

Not a big fan but I'll go for a few miles a couple of times a month. If youve not tried it I recommend the 'Zombies, run!' App... makes it much more fun |

"Running is not the way to loose weight? Explain why boxers run in sweat suits for weeks twice a day to loose weight then ?"
Its a way... just not optimal on its own. Cardio and resistance in tandem will work much quicker |

I think you need better support in your trainers if road running hurts although the other things is roads have gradients and if your only running flat on a treadmill that xould explain it. |

Boxers run for stamina and endurance not for weight loss. The average boxing match last 30mins plus use to be longer. try standing swinging your arms and legs for 30mins none stop and you will see why boxers occasionally run. |

See I love running, then again I took it up 4 years ago as an alternative to all the cardo and weight work I was doing ; it took my proceeding weightloss gains from a 40" was it down to 36" the two things I gained which i had not expected were
1. it has helped with blackdoag and anxiety issues especially after the death of two parents and a shitty LWaT.
2. It helped me realise that I don't just love Lycra ... i Luuure lycra.
