I fancied the look of the movie - nice chick flick for me and my mates as the nights are drawing in... so bought the book.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Strange subject for a bloke to write about but he got the mood just right. The whole point of it and the twist in the last 5 chapters was the hook and the difference from it just being a love story over the decades. I dont know how this will work in the movie. Author wrote the screenplay too so Im hoping he captures the moment.

I had a reet auld bawl at the end.Im gonna be a wreck in the cinema.

So if theres a book that precedes the movie do you read it first or read it afterwards?

What movies you have seen were better than the book and vice versa?

The two James Patterson Alex Cross movies suck compared to the books.

It was more down to the casting. Morgan Freemen is too much of a wimp to play Alex Cross.

Also the film Jesus of Nazareth with Robert Powell in is waaaaay better than The Bible.

You lulled me into a sense of false security for all of ten seconds there. Might have known.

I agree Kiss The Girls is a brilliant book, wasn't keen on the movie.

What other book of his has been made into a film?

Yes, they didnt portray her bosses lust for her nor her attraction to the entymologist and their 'thing'. Without his lust there was no reason for her to be singled out from the academy.

I will give the book a go because I turned the movie off. Cage reminded me too much of Jonathan Ross to take the thing seriously.

In my head as I read One Day I imagined Dexter to be like Ed Baines the chef and Emma to be like Saffy out of Ab Fab. Hope Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess don't disappoint.

Sleeping with the enemy was a great book that had me gripped but the film was awful

Another more recent book that I loved was My Sisters keeper and although the film had me sobbing throughout, the end was the complete opposite to the book and left me really dissapointed

With a book your imagination and your own interpretations of characters always seem to make them better than film versions

the Bourne films are fantastic !!! however they are only loosely based on the Robert Ludlum books !!!!

So as a stand alone set of movies they are great

But the original books are better !!!!
