So I’ve been away for most of the year, and missed Download (usually a regular attendee), but am just hovering over the trigger for tickets to DL18 (depending on the lineup announcement in a couple of days).
My question, do we have many Downloaders in here?
Do any of you ever meet up there? |

I went to every Monsters of Rock (a few of us even walked there one year, it sounded like a good idea at 3 am after a night in the Rockhouse Derby), but have only been to a handful of Download festivals. I prefer the Rock & Blues Custom Show just up the road at Pentrich, or going to see up & coming bands in local pubs these days. |

Never been Download although went to Monsters of Rock most times. We can often hear Download at home but don't go to it cus it's expensive and there's never enough on that i like. |

Honestly, having done a few Download, Waken, Grasspop, Hellfest.
Skip Dowload and get yourself on the continent, if you can get Hellfest tickets on resale (when the line up is anounced) do. It seriously the best festival in Europe, no competion. But the continentaly do festivals better than us brits, more relaxed, better sound, better food, better weather, and cheaper. |

I've done 10 years at Download, with the exception of last year, not particularly impressed with the headliners so far. May go to a European one instead. |

Been to a few, always a good time. Missed the last couple. I do like avenged sevenfold and think they would be a good Friday headliner if sat and sun were great. Not really feeling Ozzy solo the way he is now though. |

Until my so. Was born we loved it! A few more years and he will be old enough for us to go again.
Would definitely meet others if the opportunity presented itself! Though maybe on day 1 when we are still reasonably in muddy and washed! |

I'm not very impressed with the line up so far, I love A7x but I'm not really fussed about seeing them at download, I'd rather see them on a tour. I'm not interested enough in the other two headliners to buy a ticket. |

Haven't bought tickets yet but 99% sure we're going to go. Caught A7X a couple of years back at Download and they blew us away. Never been as Fabbers, hoping it could put an interesting spin on things |

Bought our tickets yesterday
Been waiting 25 years to see GnR so couldn’t not go, plus don’t mind a bit of A7X and hoping that some of the other smaller bands will appeal too. Awaiting the rest of the line up with hopeful optimism

"I take it we've all seen the line-up for Download France? Bodes well if they replicate even half of that over here "
Turns out that is what I have seen. I hope this is pretty much going to be the UK lineup too, and they don't just replace them with crappy bands that would be better suited to Leeds/Reading |

"Holidays booked, just gotta sort out child cover.
Has anyone got any wish list bands.
I'm hoping In Flames make it again"
Saw that Offspring and NOFX are at the Paris one, would be awesome if they came. Halestorm or Highly Suspect would also be good to see too but not sure what the chances of that are.

I will be there as always, been to every Download so far Going with my usual mish-mash group of misfits, rebels, heathens, reprobates, rogues, outcasts and deviants that seems to expand each year we'll be the tattooed and pierced bunch of noisy disasters in Blue camp complete with a suitably offensive flag, high levels of alcohol consumption, regular nudity, spontaneous wrestling matches and an open invite for likeminded/interesting/sexy/lonely/lost strangers to join us |

"Anyone else worried that GnR's 3 hour set time is just to allow for Axl to get his ass on stage??"
Absolutly not, London 2017 on time both nights along with the rest of the tour pretty much.
Read somewhere where the Roadies were pretty much the main victims of his previous behaviour and it had a profound effect on him It wasn't the fans being pissed at him.
I'm slightly regretting not going, as I've seen them 9 times since 1987 and have decided without no new music on the horizon that I don't want the expense for a show I've seen before again. Good as it is, I'd rather spend the cash on a good night out with the missus |

I've been going to Download since it first started in 2003 and it's what you make it/whatever you want it to be.I've always found it to be very sociable, friendly and accepting.Made friends for life there, had some of the greatest late-night parties there, got so wasted I didn't even know my own name there, had some of the funniest times of my life there.Go with an open mind and a friendly attitude and you will have a blast. There's a reason I call it my second home |

Haven't been to Download for a few years now... I had gone for a 10 year streak but the recent lineups just haven't been to my liking to justify an expensive camping trip.
I've had a good couple of fab meetups in the past. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend! |

Have you heard of camp loner? I joined cos a mutual friend in the kink scene told me about it, the idea is can join the forum and Facebook group, get to know people and then when you turn up you have people to camp with. I joined a few years ago and now have a regular festival group, ironically half of us either active on here or kink sites. It's a good group that now gets its own dedicated field between red and blue camps |

Meetup is pretty good for finding local activites too, I went to my first ever DnD meetup last week and have now joined a group doing a weekly meetup. |

Just a quick question, does anyone know if there’s any issues with using tickets you’ve bought from someone who can’t go?
I’ve seen some advertised on Facebook for less than you can get them from the Download site.. |

I doubt they I.D everyone so it should be fine as long as they're genuine tickets. |

It's just rock up to the entrance and hand over the ticket. They check the ticket is real and scan the barcode and that is it.
As for camp loner I recommend joining the Facebook group as that is how they all organise, it's very active, and get their own dedicated field cos it has grown so much |
