no i thought it was great, meant i never missed anything. I dont know if they do the showroom style things in all stores but they had flat layouts completely kitted out at the Coventry branch. Great idea i thought

i spent £600 in there one sunday evening, had a job fitting it all in the car. Should have seen us driving away both of us curled up in the front so funny. Lucky not to get stopped, we were both (flat packed) by the time we got home x x x

lol i went overboard with buying photoframes and various other little nick nacks

i had my eye on some floating shelves but saw them in the showroom type bit and didnt realise you had to write down the item numbers then go to a different floor to pick it up

My next door neighbour christened me the IKEA queen, I used to be a dab-hand at putting together flat-pack furniture. Off to IKEA end of the month for some flat-pack sofas of all things!

The last seating unit in this house had to come through the window as the doors are so narrow, so I'm not going to go through all the hassle of removing a sealed double glazed unit to do that ....it's flat-pack ones for me!

The meatballs are very good.I sat in the cafe while everyone else looked at the fixtures and fittings first time I went.

Did you know it was Ikea who introduced the UK to Absolute Vodka?

I'll forgive the place just for doing that!

in ikea, i always take the short cuts and end up in the 'marketplace'

i like that bit - the rest they can keep. all a bit modern and funky for me.

my place is made up of older pieces with contemporary prints and accesories thrown in so it doesn't look like you've just walked into your grans flat.

my favourite piece of furniture tho is my charity shop 1940s/50s sideboard -

it weighs a fkin tonne (i should know i had to get it up the external stairs) and is solid.

it always gets comments tho and my sister has already placed 'first dibs' on it if i ever get rid

it is one thing that keeps me from moving - just the though of getting it back down them stairs fills me with dread !

I think the homeware is brilliant for anyone on a budget or starting up home. Has the most realistic prices for everyday items.

I had a party after my daughters wedding and bought boxes of wine and champagne glasses for 23p each so didnt mind if they got broken - 5 years and several parties on only 2 out of the 60 have been broken.

I'm not sure if it is still the case, but at one point, the UK stores were actually franchises and not all stores stocked the same lines !

I know that the stores in Holland and Germany that I used to shop in had different stock from the UK ones.

willenhall

the one at wednesbury used to be part of darlaston's area untill they moved town boundarys. Its only 1.5 miles from chams.

They do a full english breakfast dead cheap.

so those that travel can do two things at once LOL

and the meatballs are much better with the Ikea gravy I always have stock in. make 2 or 3 packets up at one then let it cool and fill those icecube bag things and freeze have a ready supply can get some chips cooked meatballs and gravy in 10 mins.

I really don't like Ikea, but the frying pans are great, nothing sticks to them and at just £1.38.

Mind also, the little take away place like thing at the door on the way out, I don't usually but fast food for ,y little un so he was as happy as I was when I bought 2 lots of fries, 2 hot dogs, 2 donuts, 2 ice-cream cones and 2 refillable drinks, orange for little un and coffee for me, all for £4.15, can't grumble at that, we had also just been to the cinema for £1 each, cost just over £10 for all that and travel. yay, go me.

Love them Reindeer meatballs.

Thank god it's so cold up in Lapland. Just go round with a bucket and collect 'em.

Ikea is fine until there's a fire in one. No one will get out in time as you will have to go all the way round the store. Only ever seen two fire exits at the Warrington one, still like the kitchen gadgets there
