Been looking into it and best to google 'do i need a dash cam'
Legally it can't obscure your view of the road obviously or its footage isn't admisable and you can be prosecuted.
The police can confiscate any footage recorded and can be used against you.
Its a fiddle on fitting and removing incaze it gets nicked.
If using it for non private vehicle use, eg a taxi, you have to notify passengers its there as it records audio too.
Knowing my luck id lash money out for one and get done by the cops for evidence against me

I've got one. Was easy to fit & simple to put on & off the screen mount if it needs to be removed. Sits just behind the rear view mirror so no obstruction of the windscreen from driving position. Now it's fitted, hope I never need the footage |

Definitely worth it, I got one after two no fault by me write offs in 5 months. I live in an area where crash for cash is on the rise so I'm more reassured I can provide evidence that I'm not at fault. |

"I read somewhere that having Iona can increase your insurance premiums, as it can increase the chance of aggression against you."
Good point. Ive been looking for discreet ones that other psrties won't see if there's an accident |

"I've got a go pro hero session helmet cam though motorbike is tucked away for now on these dark wet days. Soooooo many close calls"
I have thought about getting a go pro, but concerned about it compromising the helmet in a crash. |

My insurance company don't have any policies on dash cams but they DID advise me to get mine. |
