Also, to whom I was discussing James Blake to, the merits of his work are in the fact he plays every instrument himself, plays paino in a very complex way & layers his music dramatically. Go in with an open mind & you’ll really enjoy!

Debut album is the most raw so that may solit your opinion but after that he moved more towards songwriting so the post-dubstep influence is turned down a bit

There and to the left a bit

I called Feeling Good on the last thread but by coincidence heard on Pointless today that NME readers voted it the best cover version ever - it's good but not sure I'd agree - Walk On By - The Str*anglers gets my vote for that accolade

I remember Mike flowers pops. Hated it at first but then a friend used to listen to it daily and constantly sing and hum it so it grew on me lol

I liked it from the off - was one of those clever covers that has you going "I know I know this" - the same happened for me with the Roll With It cover I mentioned (link below) which I only heard from half way through so after the opening line which gives it away

I must say I do have a very broad musical taste. But yeah it is haunting. It's just the way his vocals sound on it

That is a quality version.

Another good cover is House of the Rising Sun by Frijid Pink.
