"I’m English for a long way back. Husband is a mix of Greek Scottish English and South African, I can’t remember the exact proportions!"

"Bajan, English and Italian heritage here.
Go back a few more generations and there's even French and Arabian.
It's an interesting question OP, I love finding out about others' heritage!"
Bajan girl . Thanks I really did think I would have got a lot of disapproval from members. But really hot mix you've got there. I am sure you know a little Italian |

I've got Scottish norse(viking) Scandinavian Dutch and Italian heritage. Only found out about the norse a couple of years ago when I traced my family tree.

"I'm adopted so never knew my genetic background.
But due to one of my sons medical conditions I had DNA tests done.
Turns out I actually do have Amazonian genes, and a pinch of East European too "
Would love to have dna tests, my mom's adopted we only found out our family heritage a couple of years back..
I think everyone on the planet should be told at birth what their bloodline is, it would help defuse hate on the planet for sure!

Haven't a clue on my Dad's side, but of Viking Descent but possibly with a hint of something else in there somewhere. Rumours abound about a possible Jewish link in the family tree?
And I have Hazel/green eyes...

"None of us are ever 100% purely something or other, going back hundreds of years we’re all a mishmash of all sorts "
That's not really true. Plenty of areas have genes going back thousands of years. Irish, Scottish, Picts, Basque.
I'm 100% Irish.
Also interesting bit of info, lactose tolerance is mainly a white gene, and it gets lost if people mix. If you are lactose intolerant and white, its 90% sure its due to you having genes from the med area. |

Nah im sure it was the Bajans that started putting sugar in the fried dumpling and that's how it became festival. |

It's great to see a thread about ethnicity/ethnic origin that hasn't descended into an argument
My ethnic origin is white English. On my mum's side we have traced the family tree back over 500 years and everyone on it is even from the same county. Our ancestors didn't venture very far lol.
On my dad's side we haven't traced the family tree properly but at some point we must have originated in Scotland because we have an ancient Scottish surname. |

I haven't a clue. We've gone back 200 yrs as far as we can and ended up back in the Midlands. I am the first person in 200 yrs to live here since they moved away. We had no idea,2 and not only did they live in the Midlands, but a 5 min drive from where I am!! |

Except the Vikings did a lot of pillaging in Ireland for a long time Along with Mediterranean traders so you probably you have a small percentage of something else. |

My heritage is so boring I can't even be bothered to research it! White English, some Irish through my mums side but don't know how far back, must be Scottish on my dads side cos of the name. Can't see it being any more interesting than that |

I'm English, English parents, can trace family back to Scotland, and France.
Found out too that the Scottish part of my family was actually kicked out of his clan - because he met an English woman.. LOL |
