Turns out I actually do have Amazonian genes, and a pinch of East European too

Haven't a clue on my Dad's side, but of Viking Descent but possibly with a hint of something else in there somewhere. Rumours abound about a possible Jewish link in the family tree?

And I have Hazel/green eyes...

That's not really true. Plenty of areas have genes going back thousands of years. Irish, Scottish, Picts, Basque.

I'm 100% Irish.

Also interesting bit of info, lactose tolerance is mainly a white gene, and it gets lost if people mix. If you are lactose intolerant and white, its 90% sure its due to you having genes from the med area.

It's great to see a thread about ethnicity/ethnic origin that hasn't descended into an argument

My ethnic origin is white English. On my mum's side we have traced the family tree back over 500 years and everyone on it is even from the same county. Our ancestors didn't venture very far lol.

On my dad's side we haven't traced the family tree properly but at some point we must have originated in Scotland because we have an ancient Scottish surname.

I haven't a clue. We've gone back 200 yrs as far as we can and ended up back in the Midlands. I am the first person in 200 yrs to live here since they moved away. We had no idea,2 and not only did they live in the Midlands, but a 5 min drive from where I am!!

My mother was Greek and my father Irish. I was born here.

I don't know very much about my Greek heritage.

My fathers family were from Cork and Sligo.

I'm English, English parents, can trace family back to Scotland, and France.

Found out too that the Scottish part of my family was actually kicked out of his clan - because he met an English woman.. LOL
