I think a username can be an insight into the person (not always)...if it's quite crude then it would put me off
Wouldn't meet someone called spunkbucket500.. |

"Hi all,
Not sure if this makes us shallow but we’ve found ourselves not connecting with ppl due to their user names. Does anyone else do this?"
Absolutely as soon as we receive a message from someone with a vulgar and/or crude username we delete. Hope our username is okay - we are thinking of changing to fluffy bunnies.

My previous answer on another thread:
All you have to do is look at your homepage and you know automatically who you would definitely avoid.
Which could be a shame in some cases as we are judging based on words on a screen but it is a natural instinct, and I do it all the time.
It does make you think 'what the hell were they thinking' when they first joined and do they now understand the correlation in their lack of success? Who knows...... |

Yep, and regardless of their sex! You have to assume that it's reflective of the their personality and/or their wants.
To that end, a good name has made us msg them purely to say it amused us!
Hmm x |

I'm still unsure of mine after 8 years but it adds a little je ne sais quoi - and I never take too much that seriously anyway.
I think if nothing else, a name is bound to have an effect, so it may as well be a positive one.

Well, I don't think anyone called wombbreaker is going to get a great deal far in meeting the droves of women they expect when signing up
That said, people probably just scratch their heads when they see some of the usernames I use on sites, for different reasons though |
