Seriously, am I the only person who finds it utterly ridiculous that TV channels such as True Movies and Movies 24 start showing Christmas films in October?
True, there are some brilliant 'Christmas' movies that I'd happily watch at any time of the year - Home Alone, It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, Love Actually...
However, I have to ask if there's ANYONE who wants to be able to watch wall-to-wall Christmas films when we haven't even got past Halloween or - for our American friends - Thanksgiving? |

I think there is a dedicated channel for Christmas movies that usually pops up around this time of year. Don't tend yo watch the channels you mentioned above as definitely a kodi fab for movies. It is a bit silly but a lot of people enjoy it and like to get into the Christmas feeling as early as possible so that's awesome. |

Totally agree.
As I say, I don't count Home Alone, It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol or Love Actually as explicitly 'Christmas' movies... |

Those ARE the 'Dedicatex Channels' of which you speak...
On or around October 21st, True Movies becomes Christmas Movies, and Movies 24 becomes Christmas 24 |

"How many people go to church at Xmas? "
I used to go to my family's big Christmas eve party and we knew it was time to leave when all my extended family was getting ready to walk up to church for midnight mass. Ugh! |

Anyway, yes, I think it ruins the feel of Christmas to have it all start so early. There is Halloween, Guy Fawkes day (which I've wholeheartedly embraced!), and Thanksgiving to get through first.
It especially annoys me because Thaksgiving is my all-time favorite holiday and I feel it's getting more and more overlooked because it's harder to commercialize. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
There used to be a permanent Christmas shop at London Bridge. I don't think it's there anymore but it was always busy, even in May.
I don't like doing Christmas stuff until around 18th, basically when schools close, and then I'm happy to wallow in it.
The local Catholic church has to hold two services on Christmas Eve to cope with the number of people wanting to go to church.

I thought Black Friday was the way that Thanksgiving got commercialised. Plus, you have all the shopping for the feast of standard items.

But black Friday is just more Christmas commercialization. It's supposed to be for Christmas shopping. That's a big argument that gets rehashed each year in the U.S. - that people shouldn't have to go to work on Thanksgiving so people can shop for Christmas.
I think the idea is that people can work on Christmas (and some do) because there are people of lots of faiths in the U.S. and not everyone celebrates Christmas, but Thanksgiving is like the 4th of July - it's supposed to be for everyone and Christmas commercialism is ruining it. That's my take on it, anyway. I want Thanksgiving back! |

I think it would be good to have a few days a year when shops and internet shopping are not available.

Use your remote control and turn the tv channel if you don’t like what’s on.
Or switch the tv off.
Amazing I rarely have tv on in the morning.
If anything may pop tv on for like 30mins just to watch news.
I know my dad normally has sky news on a LOT of the time, anytime I visit him. |

"365 other channels of shite to watch quit moaning. "
spot on.
We’re spoilt for choice when coming to tv channels.
Easily remember the days before we got sky installed
You want they days back mate.
When you only had 4 TV channels.
I even remember when channel 5 opened/launched by the spice girls |
