Au contraire, Mon Amie, I've lost over four stone this year and didn't cut out carbs at all or work out at all.
I stopped drinking two years ago (not for dieting) but didn't loose any weight.

I was just trying to point out that cutting out carbs wasn't essential and as for alcohol, I think the problem there is that drinking makes you feel hungry and "causes" you to eat the wrong things late at night.
For me, porridge in the morning with sprinkling of chopped nuts and a little pineapple, lunch was something light like home made soup but no bread and dinner chicken and as much greens as the plate could hold, sweet potato as the carb. Once a week home made curry and chilli with all the trimmings. Not for everyone but always had raw carrots and low fat yogurt if I felt peckish between meals.
Best bit, no gym workouts!

Aimed for approx 1/3 carb intake per day as per Mediterranean Diet but have now switch to Keto or Paleo Diet because I did miss eating things like cheese. Not necessarily to loose further weight but to be able to eat as much of the things I like. |

Approx 9 months of roughly being on the Mediterranean Diet which is about 1/3 carbs as your calorie intake, which I lost the weight on. Recently switched to Keto/Paleo type diet which is indeed a greatly reduced carb intake but takes no account of calories and it means I can eat lots of the things I enjoy, dairy, meat, olive oil, eggs, bacon, almost to bursting in fact...seems to be working for me and haven't had any side effects. |
