Winks are a quick 'hello how are you?' Or maybe a way of saying, 'I think your cute, call me?
But do they work to actually get someone's attention, to hopefully start to talk to that person your aching to get your hands on? Maybe you just want to chat to them to see what makes them tick.
Say your in, and have a wink with others in the thread.
*Fuzz, this is for you. |

Winks have never worked for me in either direction. If I get one I just think it's lazy...and if I send one, nothing ever comes of it. Waste of time in my experience. |

There and to the left a bit |
I very rarely send or receive winks as I'd prefer to message from the off - that said if I received a wink from someone that interested me I'd either wink back or follow up with a message..
...so on that note...I'm (tentatively) in |

Winks on here are a bit like 'pokes' on Facebook.
Completely useless in the main.
So much of this site has become people just pissing about and using it like a wank-library or social media. |

Winks can also be a tad more subtle - a way of saying "yup, I very much like what I see and here is a simple way of saying it" If there's no response then it means the other person is not interested in you. Fine. It feels a little more polite / acceptable than sending a message and not having a reply - and saves the recipient of the message from having to think about how to respectfully decline, or ignoring / deleting the message. Dunno.
Or the equivalent of a cheeky little flirt... |

I have winked by accident, hitting the wrong button and immediately messaged to apologise for the wink. I don't usually send them, but don't mind getting them. I'm not that precious.. |

I never notice when I have new winks (because I never expect to get any) as a result, I recently found a wink sent in July, from a very pretty young lady, who now has her profile hidden. Dammit!
So yes, wink all over me you saucy devils |

I've not received an unsolicited wink from a lady or couple in years, so if I say 'I'm in' for this, would that mean I have solicited a wink? Just wink anyway if you're concerned about a label........ |

For those who don't believe these kind of threads work, let me tell you; I received 2 winks today as a direct result of being proactive and getting involved here, which is TWICE as many as I received in the WHOLE of last week! So there! Keep the faith people

its true, but sadly this morning I realised how easy those winks are to miss, I had a couple and didn't notice until this morning.
I do think a message does get better attention. |

"My massive winking sesh was pretty successful, thank you Bee A few convos, some lovely msgs and a few new friends

This isn’t a North/South divide thing again is it lol? As in; Southerners wink/respond to winks more than Northerners? |

I used to think I understood the point of winks and that they were a good idea but lately we've had a few where we've assumed they were a subtle hint of interest, winked back and never heard any more. I thought winks were were putting the feelers out before messaging but maybe I'm wrong. T |

Huh?! We don't see any divide when it comes to swinging or winking!
Responding to winks and msgs is dependent on the sender
Or am I misunderstanding?
