"Mine has to be Talking heads Stop making sense
close second would be The Cramps
Smell of female"
But is Smell of Female an LP or a 12" EP? The one I come back to the most is probably Dead Kennedeys Fresh Fruit for Rotten Vegetables but it depends on my mood |

There and to the left a bit |
Picking just one is near enough impossible so many great ones I go back to listen to time and again...
...but if I had to pick just one album to listen to for the rest of my life it would be the extended version of The Liberty Of Norton Folgate by Madness
It's the album that finally saw the band I had loved for 30 years get the credit and acclaim they deserved.
Honourable mentions though to Steve McQueen (Prefab Sprout), The Specials first album, American Idiot (Green Day), I Just Can't Stop It (The Beat) and a few more |

As above, so many, so difficult.... but Green Day, American Idiot
Not that I’m smarting still after going to Glasgow to see them and having the concert cancelled by the promoters 20 minuets before doors open and turning down tickets the weekend before for London because I was going to Glasgow!!

It's way too difficult to give a top 20 of all time but I'll throw in Ian Dury & the Blockheads' - New Boots & Panties .
Such an original album at the time. |

Human League - Dare, for the reason that everywhere you went at the time, you'd hear somebody playing it. Shops, sea front, houses and cars, it was an epic album that resonated with a lot of people. A great era in my life. |

Ouch - I think I would have cried. I won't tell you how amazing London was. Another vote here for American Idiot - it's by far the most played album on my iPod |

Oh and "Blue Valentine" by Tom Waits - in fact ANYTHING by Tom Waits.
Another great album (all killer / no filler) is "August and Everything After by Counting Crows. |

"Bigger than America
Before After
Penthouse & Pavement
All by Heaven 17
I'm a little bit of a fan "
Years ago I saw heaven 17 in the departure lounge at Heathrow. I was heading back to Northern Island with the rest of my company after a few days leave. All having a beer or two we started singing Temptation...very badly. I give the band their due. They laughed their heads off at 80 squaddies making fools of themselves and gave a round of applause at our effort.
May fab Album. Rio. |

Definitely too many to mention but recently I've been revisiting an oldie or three, Wors gets around by Strereophonics, Queen is Dead by The Smiths, and if I should fall from Grace with god, by the pogues.
My three most recent purchases are Colours by Beck, Every country's sun by Mogwai, and Sleep well beast by The National x |

I can't narrow it down to one, but one of my favourite albums that works as an entire "listening journey" as opposed to a collection of singles is "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" (Smashing Pumpkins) |

"How can anyone decide? It really depends on what mood i'm in, at the moment it's a toss-up between Deadpool's Sinner and PIL's Metal Box. "
Never tire of 'Metal Box', that would be up there for me.

Wow, I don't think I could say what my definitive top ten albums are, let alone just one.
It depends on my mood, but if I want to go back to stuff that had a profound effect on me, then these would be played.
Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden.
Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen
Slippery When Wet - Bon Jovi. |
