The soaps, a lot of people follow them and don't seem to realise that the characters aren't real. And reality shows too. XXX

Yes there are a lot of popular shit TV programmes ....fortunately I'm sufficiently discerning in my viewing choices I don't have to waste my time listing them........

We don’t watch tv much at all anymore, more a Netflix and YouTube family. I think tv has to change rapido or it will be dead and buried just like video players.

Not watched these programs for a while now.

Same old story. Hardly here of the winner afterwards etc.

Very few have any success after.

I've not watched soaps for about 10 year's...

Any rubbish reality tv.

I'd rather sit and watch a decent series of film or failing that read or write

Pretty much all telly is overrated. In recent months, we've only watched GOT and The Walking Dead. Cancelled Netflix, no longer use Sky TV, and not thrilled by the remainder. The bonus is, we do a lot more sexy time

Strangely I don’t put TV on in the morning now ever.

Sometimes listen to radio for news.

Only time I watch TV at night.

Normally put it on BBC news24 just to see what’s happening in the world.

Then watch YouTube

The news at 10 or whatever time it's shown.

Same shit, different day.

Plus breakfast news, midday news and then the 6 o clock news banged on about the same old shit each time.

Fuck off news, your shit.

"Hercules Poirot... "

That sounds like a show I'd watch.

I imagine episodes like The Mystery of the Missing Hydra and Murder in Nemea.

Starring a quiet, polite Belgian man with incredible strength.

Have to agree with all the posts up to now, I catch up on the news via ceefax in the morning and rarely watch anything else, in fact I'm thinking of getting shot of the TV and saving on the licence fee.

I don't think they would be allowed to show some of the old stuff now...could you imagine a remake of the likes of "love thy neighbour "

The Walking Dead.

Great premise and at first I was hooked but it never ever changes. And don't start on the characters there isn't one that I like or care about.

As the OP has put ‘overrated’ I’m guessing you mean what the critics and general public go mad about, for example The Wire, Breaking Bad, Black Mirror etc..unfortunately I do like those but can understand why they could be regarded as boring or too complex.

There are times when we need to turn off our brains and just enjoy a laugh or more simpler storylines as well, I think that is downplayed by the critics also.

But in the vein of the thread Eastenders it’s miserable

Best series is the one where they find a safe place that subsequently becomes unsafe
