has any guys on here ever gone to a lady's home to help her out. For example say a neighbour or a customer wanting a plumber. Gas electrician or whatever and has refused a 'come on' from the lady. And for what reason?

Yes i have. Im a window cleaner. Working one day and a woman at the block of flats i was cleaning had a flat tyre. Changed it out for her and she got a little friendly.....i respectfully declined for no other reason than my boss was about 20 feet away.....

I’m so terrible at noticing signs that I was completely unawares when a workmen came to my house to fix something and then text me a couple of hours later to say he had ‘left’ something at mine. He hadn’t. Me being me didn’t realise he wanted an excuse to come back ‘after hours’.

Yes I turned down the offer from a customer of a blow job from her daughter if I resealed her shower. Fortunately I'd already been given the heads up that they had a history of conning tradesmen. The daughter was 16!

I've refused any 'come ons' while I've been doing the job I do now. It's very reputation sensitive, which has taken me years to build up but could be destroyed in seconds.

I had opportunities of this kind when I was much younger and working as an electrician unfortunately it was only hindsight that made me realise that the opportunities were there

I think this might happen more often than people might think. Certainly in my working life it has happened quite a few times. The most recent being 6 weeks ago. The customer was coming on to all the trades in her house at various different times, the sparks, groundworker and us when we fitted her kitchen. It was blatant and full on, according to the sparks she had even left "toys" laying on her bed when she knew full well he would be working in her bedroom.

The thing is though, work is work and to be honest neither i or any other tradesmen i know would take the risk of mixing work with pleasure.

As mentioned, the "R" word could be pulled into play if hubby finds out and the "B" word could easily be pulled into play when it comes to the point of payment for the job..................not worth it peeps.

I once turned a pro footballers wife down whilst doing some work on their garden, I fully expected never to be asked to do anything for them again but far from it. Seems the knock back served to gain their trust and respect and I actually ended up doing loads for them until he moved clubs, in hindsight I do actually wonder if it was just a test they engineered to find out what kind of person I was, although I’d be surprised as she was very convincing

Yes I have. My reason? It took me by surprise, I wasn't expecting it. Yes, I might have flirted, but it wasn't intentional. I didn't fancy her, but that wasn't the point. To asume i'd take sex as a payment wasn't fair.

thats it in a nutshell, but it was the start to a lot for me.

To be honest when in normal mode I am pretty bad at noticing flirtatious behaviour. When in work mode they would need to be naked and begging for me to notice, and I would still finish the job and at most see if they fancied a drink a few days after the invoice was paid.

Work and play don't mix.

More likely it was because you did a good job for them at a good price. The quality of your work tells them what type of person you are as they employed you do that job.
