"When you're prepping for a comp, the physical stress you put your body under doesn't leave energy for anything else.
Post comp... Well!
There's a lot of pent up tension needs releasing "
From what I've seen that normally takes the form of eating cake and lots of it |

"I'm curious: with all those perfect bodies, both male an female, on display - are the competitors all copping off? "
You'd be surprised how many are taken. However, a party of fit bodies wouldn't be a bad thing to attend but so far those parties aren't easy to find. V |

I imagine with all the steroids they pump in, something is going to suffer..
I chanced upon the Macedonian bodybuilding competition whilst cycling round the country some years ago.
Now if you think strictly has an excess of fake tan... |

Pre comp, you cut out carbs, a glass of wine or alcohol prior to stage makes your veins pop! |

I know I lived with a competitive body builder for 5 years... I used to sneak out so I could buy chocolate and eat it while walking the dogs...
12 weeks of dieting and as you know it's ruthless the last few weeks... |

Hmm I remember having to fight him off a Christmas cake that had been in the cupboard for a year, took me hours to persuade him it was horrid and then I made the mistake of opening it ( to prove my point) lol a year down the line it had matured and smelt Devine ha ha x |

I did used to compete myself. A loooong time ago clearly lol. Stress and training and dieting and practice takes over. But after with all that pent up energy and relief it’s over till the next one makes for some serious release needed. At the time my partner was also a bodybuilder and you’ll find most couples are both bodybuilders.

Interesting thread. Im working towards my first competition in June.
I've never lifted weights before total change in diet.
Just thought I would throw myself totally outside my comfort zone and see how I could change my body shape.
Then cycling London to Paris for charity in Sep

Do they?? I'm currently concentrating on cardio to get fit and my weight down. Only use a couple of weight machines for my arms.

The only vway to specifically alter shape is resistance training. Check out Sally Moss's website. Lift like a man to look like a woman... It'll make you lean in the most efficient way ?? |
