This is not original, lifted from another site, and it made me cry!
I am fully aware pets cannot talk or write, and pet heaven may not exist, however, it still makes me cry after reading it.
----------------------------------------
To have loved and then said farewell is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you.
For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly.
For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.
I ask that you grieve not for the loss but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each other's lives.
My life was fuller because you were there, not as owner, but as my friend.
Today, I am as I was in my youth.
The grass is always green, butterflies flit among fthe flowers and the sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures.
I can run, jump and play and do all of the things that I did in my youth.
There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.
We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever.
You live in our hearts as we do in yours.
Companions such as you are very rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself.
Give it to another like me and then I will live forever.
For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.

Your pet in heaven. |

Nope, gone from a few tears to full on bawling now
I've lost 2 cats in the last 5 years. It's really hard but as the passage says - To have loved and then said farewell is better than to have never loved at all.

Nah, let the tears flow. You would feel better afterwards.
I would like to believe I am mostly a tough nut that is hard to crack, however, there is a soft centre somewhere.
My pets are my first pets, and they mean a lot to me. I would hate to loose them, however, I know I will eventually.

No, its natural, theres many a blokey bloke who has been reduced to crying his eyes out like a bairn at the sudden realisation his bestest pal has gone.
I did it when i realised my dog as ever loyaly waited till dad got home before he went, that bit still triggers me off.

I cried as I buried "my little mate" Tinker when he died aged 22. He`d always been a "bit of a lad" and seemed never to be afraid of taking on other cats despite his smaller size for a tomcat. Yet when a homeless lady cat arrived on the scene, he positively encouraged us to feed her and stood guard while she ate. |

Thanks for the touching post Pearl.
The tears are flowing but its a beautiful post.
Still miss my kitty after 4 years. Had I seen something like this then, it might have made the grief more bareable. |

Our cat, Tinkerbell became ill and we had to have her put down. Broke my heart and we both cried as did our grown up children. There is not a day when I don't get a "glimpse" of her walking into another room. Probably more hope than fact, but she was my cat!
As for the post? As you said, pets can't talk or write. It was written by someone, probably in America who wanted to try and join the ranks of the "email evangelists" Those who want to get us to send their mail to all our friends..
As such, does nothing for me! |
