I love a good guitar but more rock than metal.
Royal Blood
Foo Fighters
Nirvana
Pink Floyd
Muse
Iron Maiden
AC/DC
Motorhead
Deep Purple
Led Zep
System Of A Down
And strangely starting to appreciate Rush.
I am hardwired into Planet Rock so that might be it |

More more rock (glam, punk, post punk) than metal but still partial to some. Been listening to some Doom Metal this year, Windhand, Messa, Towers...
Also love black Sabbath, ministry, janes addiction, and faith no more.

"Very into my Death and some black metal. What the hell is slam though?
Google it mate. Normally the lyrics tend to be a little extreme but the break downs and vocals are epic. "
Had a listen to a few of the bands in the genre. Not my thing. Vocals are way too gutteral. Cryptopsy excepted. They were alright. I've seen a couple of these bands live. Just wasnt aware of the genre name. |

I dislike the modern connotation of metal......
My affiliation with metal belongs back in the halcyon days when UFO, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest. strutted their stuff 300 nights a year in venues that held no more than 2000 people.....

Im not massive in to metal but I do like System Of A Down. I saw them live in Auckland in 2002 and been a fan ever since.
I do love some of the fusion/progressive metal stuff though, bands like The Algorithm, Animals As Leaders and Enter Shikari.
The Algorithm is unreal, How they make great tracks with the fusion of so many different genres is amazing. Check them out |

My taste has progressed from rock towards the more extreme metal genres over the years. Still love a bit of rock too. Interestingly I started off lending my ears to the guitar. Has i have got older and probably in line with my genre shift it's the drum beat that draws me in more now. |

Not a metal head as such but listen to a lot of bands like Pixies, Jane's Addiction, NOFX, Rancid that seem to be popular in metal circles as well as with old indie kids like me are |

Im becoming more of a metalhead as I get older. The stuff that gets played on all the radio stations nowadays has put me right off mainstream music. I will always be a raver at heart but im really getting into rock and metal. Currently liking linkin park, system of a down, within temptation, five finger death punch, halestorm and have a list of artists I want to check out. |

Anybody like a bit of metalcore/hardcore/screamcore/whateveryouwanttocallit? I love everything from Creedence through Pantera to BMTH, but my ears mostly get down to the likes of Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, and The Ghost Inside these days. |

I honestly don't know WHAT I'd categorise Crossfaith as. They really are splendid, though. Insanely energetic live performance. Seeing them supporting Skindred was a magnificent moment, "Wildfire" live with Benji coming on stage was a thing of mental beauty. |

Yeah, I do appreciate how lucky I am being down south when plenty of big bands don't go beyond London and I do feel for those up north who have long treks down here for gigs. Having said that, just spent 160 quid for two nights hotel in Manchester for the Billy Joel gig @ The Cricket Ground. |

Big rock and metal fan here. From classic rock, power metal, (some) hair metal and most thrash/death, to 80s UK hardcore.
Also love goth, altenative and electronic. Forget telly, music every time for me and live music/festivals is where I'm at my happiest. |
