Sometime's I'll send a message to folks looking to meet and it gets read and just left in the inbox.

Now I know a delete speaks for itself, but when it's just left as read but not replied to, I kind of see that as being in the squad but not starting the game.

Yes, you may be required, but maybe the star player will come match fit at the last moment...

Quite a lot never delete...they let them gradually disappear.

But I would think a no reply means no interest

Sometimes I read one and by the time I’ve checked the profile and maybe the veris and even their veris and looked at the pics, real life beckons and by the time I get back, a load of other messages have arrived and the read message has gone.

Why do people even look at their sent box? I don't get it. The site would be better off if they just got rid of it.

Ah I'd like to think as a site supporter I get a bit more message space, but we all know it's that I never get that many messages!

Cos a delete is a definite not interested? I know then not to bother those folks again....likewise an unread when they've been on a few times since it was sent.

Some of us single chaps really do try not to pester.

Ignoring your search t box amd nor trying to second guess how people manage their inbox. 2 surefire ways to make Fab less stressful

But let's say the message system here acted the same way as an email. Let's say you could see your sent messages but you never know if they are deleted, read, unread, whatever. Then you'd have to treat every sent and unanswered message the same, regardless of whether it's been deleted or not (because you wouldn't know).

You'd be better off for it because you'd simply send the message and assume nonresponse means they aren't interested. Simple. Easy.

Sometimes read but not delete... means ‘maybe’ pile.

Either not enough effort from him... crap message...crap profile... not enough information to go on. So I’ll think about it. (Usually means he won’t get a look in, cause there are quite a few decent guys on here, who will have made an effort with profile and message)

Or, there may be so many, I forget to reply... but not really.. cause if you’ve met criteria and made an effort I’ll reply right after reading it!)

Some men just make it easy for you to choose a better quality man.

I don't think its possible to infer anything from an unread message apart from...its unread.

It's all fine and dandy for those of us who can be confident that most of our messages will be at least acknowledged to say don't stress over it, but I imagine if you've invested time and effort in a message it must be difficult to just let it go.

I never delete a message for safety reasons. This is obviously not practical for those who receive a lot of messages.

Read, unread, not deleted etc - until you get a reply, it means not interested .

Put your energy elsewhere
