I’ve met ladies and couples who ‘won’t meet hairy or beardy guys’. Those tend to be at clubs where you’ve got the chance to chat.
Once talking play or not depends on charisma, manners (good or bad) and a healthy dose of willingness to see past the thing you thought you didn’t like.

I've been pondering this recently been talking to a woman closer to my age range and looking to hook up soon, been thinking about if it's an age dependent thing or not
