That's nice, someone sends a wink so you send one back with a friend request and they then tell you to fuck off

Exactly why I don't bother with the wink feature .....never look at whose winked me until I've looked on the profile at a later date and notice they winked at me months ago

I think a lot of people see a wink and a friend request as two very different things, we certainly do.

A wink is an expression of interest, whereas a friend invite cam be very forward and overly familiar.

Maybe it was a misunderstanding of how the two parties saw the two types of interaction.

I would never recommend adding anyone as a friend without asking, just an idea.

There and to the left a bit

Personally I'd see a wink as an expression of mild interest and would respond to one with a wink or a message but not a Friend Request - I'd leave that until having at least swapped a few messages and built a rapport of sorts (even if it is vague)

Sometimes a wink is just a nice way to say 'wocha!'

Keep it simple.

Someone winks first.

Wink back.

If they want to, they may message.

Message back.

Repeat until you know you are going to get along.

Then ask if they mind if you send a friend request.

Sending a friend request is a bit like following someone home, popping into their house, making yourself beans on toast then sticking on your favourite tv channel after speaking to them in the pub.

Best Greggs in Cheshire East

Sending the friend request was the mistake. Far too soon.
