Try being a shopfitter, 18 hr shift Monday, 17 hr shift yesterday, up at 5 for a 15 hour shift today

I was a shift worker for 12 years, now got a cushty specialist daytime weekday role but I'm doing a shift Friday night to keep my skills and for some extra money. Complete sympathy for you x

I mistakenly said ‘don’t let the bed bugs bite’ to my daughter when she was 6. I spent every bed time for the next 6 months showing her there was no ‘bed bugs’ in her bed before she would get in.......

That was obviously after the nightly spider patrol ritual.

And another top tip for parents of arachnophobic children, don’t pretend to eat a spider after you catch one!! It took me 2 hours to calm her down and convince her I hadn’t eaten it

You sleep harf the day

You work harf the nite

Sum times you work a day to

Your hours keep changing

You day off keeps changing

See my pics you will see I did shift work,Could sign on at any time from 0001 to 2400 for a turn that could last anything from 5 to 12 hours.Now strictly day work unless invited to do a night !

Mine can bounce around from early to late or late to early within a few days- got a lovely week coming up with three twelve and a half hour shifts a ten and then a 3am start on a sunday- not got a free weekend until December...and i'm only saying that as the December shifts haven't yet been published
