Some say it is a lazy way to approach someone.
I think a cheeky wink is a great way to break the ice. To show interest with no expectations of awkward conversations if the other party is not interested.
What do you think?

A wink is a gesture of interest...
Like a smile...
Personally I am not lazy in conversation.. I only wink when I have been winked at.. or I want to show interest to someone I really like the look of... |

People say its lazy, but sometimes its a useful, "Hi!".
However, I've received only 3 winks in 5 months, lol.
I have to admit- a well written note is far more successful. |

I don't mind a wink, but only if there is actually content on their profile to check out.
Waste of time if no pictures and the oh so inventive 'just ask' or 'Will fill in later blurbs |

We always look at them, 90% are deleted but if there's interest we wink back and see what they have to say, it's on the message we decide if we're interested along with the profile. It can work just depends how you use it, like many of fabs functions. |

" I agree mate not everyone has time to write 30 tailored messages everyday which is what we're told may get us one meet every three months. Plus the majority of messages don't get read as F & MF get too many to read so writing them becomes redundant. Winking is a good way for men to test the water without wasting everyone's time but of course we will be called lazy for it even though it makes perfect sense. |

" Never sure what to do with one other than wink back.
But that can be an ice breaker! X"
It can...but in my experience of receiving winks, when I've done that nothing happens.
So I'm assuming the winker wants me to message first ! |

If someone winks at us and we wink back, we won't get a message half the time so we're starting to think it's down to laziness in that they couldn't be bothered to message first!
We don't usually send winks first and rather send messages

I think, on here, a man winking a woman is pointless. Like many say, they get enough messages that just get deleted so what's the point in a wink that has no message to go with it. I used to get more winks than messages and I never bothered to check the profiles of those who winked me. |

Can fully understand this point of view but with a filter on we don't get winks from single guys (as it's not what we are looking for) and can't recall any from single girls or TV's (also both not what we are looking for) therefore we enjoy receiving a wink, as said its almost like a smile and if we happen to like the profile we may wink (smile) back and take it from there xxx |
