Its both,,, in that its part of some nations historic culture.....and it does involve cruelty..

Is it right to still do it?..... not for me!!

Culture, but still cruelty.

I'd rather they used pedos to fight the bulls. I'd watch the fucker get torn apart anytime

So why not bring back bear bating, badger bating..make fox hunting legal again...cock fighting unless its two women in chams

Surely we have come along way in this world without having to inflict pain on animals for our fun ?

i couldnt agrred more with you

any animal that is killed for entertainment is cruel, just as it's cruel to beat aminals into submission for circuses or beach photographers props

Animals was not put on this earth to become toys of our entertainment and we have no rights to treat them as such

End of

We do still have a perfectly legal form of bloodsport in the UK - fishing. Nothing more fun than ramming a sharpened barb through a fishes eye, then hauling it out into a hostile environment, then taking a picture to show how brave they are - lovely!

Wouldnt do that either

We "man"... are supposed to be top of the food chain , so why do we still find it acceptable to inflict cruelty and call it either sport...or culture ?

I found nothing wrong with fox hunting either though... My dad used to be involved..although I never have personally been.

But many of my friends and family down south often partook in it.

It is culture but it is very very cruel and I couldnt watch it. Im not sure how popular it still is in Spain.

Animals being hurt and killed in the name of sport sickens me, and also in circus where they are beaten until they perform.

Animals werent put on this earth for our entertainment, but neither were they put on this earth to be our playthings as domestic pets either. Whilst we love, care and feed then, they are still chained.

because we can

its like if a wild animal goes into a village and kills a human its branded as a monster and hunted down and killed

Yet we go out and hunt and kill animals by their thousands every year, to the point of extinction in some cases but many still see that as ok

humans have no respect for anything, they kill and chop down anything that gets in their way and bugger the effect it has on the homes of the wild life or the plannet

oh dear i knew i shouldnt have started on this thread lol

The Spanis generally don't have much of a taste for it any longer...a lot of bullrings are still operating only because of the tourists who pay to see it.

In Portugal, the bull isn't killed in the ring but it's still tormented beyond madness by the picadors, toreadors and matadors. The meat was then distributed around local orphanages and old peoples homes

It may be a cultural spectacle and the skills of the participants are without doubt but it has no place in what would like to be seen as a modern, compassionate society-killing things for fun just doesn't sit well with me I'm afraid

For me it is kind of disrespectful of other creatures, I am not a vegetarian or animal rights activist, however, I cannot see the point in torturing and killing anything (that includes fellow swingers btw ... but seriously... it is not for me!

It may be part of Spains culture, but it isn't mine.

It is undoubtably cruel too.

And in refernce to the catch it, kill it, eat it section-

If I had to kill what I ate, I would probably only eat chicken!
