So, the medium-sized munchkin came home with 2/3 of a lasagne that he cooked at school today (the rest being evenly distributed in his school bag and over his blazer).

Being a loyal and kind parent, I'm having it for my tea.

What dubious delacicies have you had to brave, in the name of parenthood?

I refused to eat anything made in school by my children, when they were in Primary (and my grandchildren.

When my children went up to Secondary they usually ate whatever they cooked, so I was spared the ordeal.

My nephew used to cook amazing stuff when he was at school, never anything dodgy and we used to fight over who got some.

He is now 20 years old and a trained chef. He has just been promoted to junior sous chef and will be due another promotion in a few months. He has also just been nominated for our regional young chef of the year award.

This story reminds me of my first efforts at cooking Pigs in Blanket at school, which duly had to be properly cooked when I got home.

Fortunately that cooking lesson fell as the last one of the day...

One Mother’s Day I was awoken very very early by my excited daughter who had made me breakfast in bed. Burnt toast with margerine and a glass of cranberry juice. The things you do for love

I used to be a chef.

I've never actually taught him anything, he's just learnt by watching.

He makes bloody good cakes, better than mine tbh!

My 2nd eldest when he was about 9, decided to do hot dogs and sketti hoops on toast for dinner. Poured the sketti in the pan, followed by the hot dogs... brine n all!

My son called me to look at his masterpiece omelette once, I said, looking good but pop it under the grill to brown the top a bit. Next thing I know he called me back in. The doughnut had taken it out of the frying pan to grill it and it fell through rack. Scrambled egg for dinner that night!
