I don't know, I don't mind them, perhaps not the ones that plant animal ears or flowers or stars onto the pic, but general tidying of colours/focus/light is alright.

Depends on why and how they're applied and people's own sense of an aesthetic. A mix of 'arty' and natural shots on a profile isn't a bad thing; it's only when they are all filtered the hell out of where there might potentially be a problem - if people are uploading nothing but heavily filtered pics when looking to meet it could be hard to tell what the reality may be. Consider though that they may also have a range of more candid shots in friends or private and simply choose to filter pics in their public gallery, which makes sense for privacy reasons.

My thought in filters? They're good, if people know how to use them.

Snapchat filters are usually used by the younger generation or those young in the mind at least, but using professional filters to adjust lighting, focus and shadows can be very handy. So I don’t mind them, unless they’ve gone over the top with them of course.

To be honest apart from B&W I never use filters ... that way if someone meets me there won't be any surprises/shocks!

On here, some just use them as a way to obscure their faces. Many of us are not able to have our faces on open display.

I met one woman in here, who used filters in a big way; she looked amazing in her pics, but was very ordinary in real life

Nothing wrong at all with filters. I love the paper bag one - really improves my looks.

I love a filter. Even without them everyone takes pics to show their best side. They crop, change lighting, hold their tummy in etc. We all want to feel attractive. I don’t send massively filtered pics of my face but if people don’t realise that we all look ordinary stripped back then more fool them.

I hate those Facebook or whatever they are filters with bunny ears and shit!

Or it's a good filter - because I know I wont get on with that person at all!

Just be you in your pictures - so no one gets any nasty surprises!

But it's obvious to me when someone has put a beauty filter on their picture.

There are certain women that frequant hot pics that over use them.

Smooth skin with no wrinkles or blemishes, big "Anime" looking eyes - and not one mark on their bodies .... and they're past 40

Oh rightyho!

We use filters because we like the look but our face shots are entirely unfiltered plus changing the colour of something doesn't make you look thinner or more attractive
