Somewhere / Everywhere /Kinksville

In the news that a bus full of Chinese tourists pulled up to see Grenfall Tower.

Would you....?

I visited Pearl Harbour, though time had long passed.

But you hear of people driving by houses were awful crimes were committed.

Who does this

I guess you cant compare these examples and much time has passed since the time when many of the living have first hand memories of these events .....

But there is tourist industry dedicated to visiting the death camps in Germany and the war graves of those who died fighting the Nazi regime

Traffic land

Not really for me, although my brother lives in Ukraine and when I go to visit next year we are considering going to Pripyat, an abandoned town which was evacuated the day after the Chernobyl disaster.

Best Greggs in Cheshire East

It's human nature. As a whole we will always be obsessed with the macabre.

Hiding in the shadows

Not for me,

although I've visited the war graves on France as part of my work with H4H to leave tributes to those that died, and I want to go to Auschwitz to pay my respects to my ancestors who died there

I suppose time makes it more of a memorial, in some cases for people to pay their respects.

But I'm sure Grenfall tourism won't go down well with the locals

4 in 10 german kids don't know what auschwitz was.

You should 100% learn from these things. When you're from outside an area things things are just side stories on the news, seeing them in person hammers home how bad it was.

Hopefully these chinese people will go home and question building methods around them, like we all should be doing.
