Beans, beans they make you fart
The more you eat, the more you fart
The more you fart, the better you feel
So let’s have beans with every meal
I had turkey steak, couscous and beans the other day. Gert lush it was |

Baked beans are second on my list of 'revolting food' phobias, after ketchup. Bean juice is so I don't think they go with anything personally.
But kidney beans etc are fine in chili con carne and I like habas fritas too |

If we're talking baked beans then there's a yin yang thing to consider without crossing the savoury/sweet boundary. They're moist and saucy but a little bland (until you add condiments as required; I like a smoked Chipotle tabasco) so need something that pairs well with that. Like a baked potato or various other potato products (including chips), fish fingers, burgers (meat or veggie), a fried/grilled smorgasbord of a breakfast (again, meat or veggie) and the aforementioned toast. Where people go wrong is in letting the baked bean juice commingle with other items before the eater chooses to do so, resulting in making other foods soggy. Careful plating up or a sacrificial sausage dam can prevent this tragedy. |

Bean juice on chips - left half an hour and then microwaved

Ah. You see, the issue with trying that is assuming if I allow myself chips then I would have any chips remaining after half an hour to microwave. That just isn't going to happen. |

Heinz baked beans on toast, with a fry up and most things you have with chips. Oh and in a shepherds pie.
Other beans are ok in a sauce, as a side,or in soups, stews and salads. |

A fast food esque pie we get in Scotland, get them in bakers and quite often at things like football games.
Great with gravy, beans or even inside a roll! |

If I may add, the meat used to be mutton and their distinct "feature" is the lid is counter sunk, ideal for baked beans then. |

Love baked beans but I have to drain the sauce off otherwise it spreads on the plate and I can't handle it when it touches other things. Mainly because it goes cold too quickly, retching just thinking about it |
