They (TNF etc) introduced the 'althletic' cut into walking/ hiking trousers a few years ago. Basically they just made them a tighter more snug fit.

Unfortunately they were shite as when doing hikking you Don't want tight clothes. As soon as you put something in the pockets you got a friction rub on you leg which led to a blister

Hope the jeans work out better
