"should it be rewarded?
Why ? Why Not ?"
It is rewarded in more instances than not. Top sportsmen and women are rewarded by becoming professional. Not all to the same degree, but rewarded nontheless.
Literary talent is often rewarded with publishing deals.
You could argue that every one who's at the top of their chosen profession is being rewarded by being paid.
Rewards don't have to be monetary, outside contractual payments either in my view.
To a lot of people, recognition of their talent and acheivement is reward in itself. |

"So. If I am born a talented singer.... should I be rewarded for what some would argue is already a gift ?" serious answer... you get rewarded for the work/ time you put in to make your singing available for others to enjoy. So if you are a good singer but only contain yourself to a performance in your own shower cubicle... you wont get rewarded...

if people are willing to pay,to hear your gift, why shouldn't you be rewarded. " Dont be tight!!! |

"Okay ........singers have to come out of the shower.
What about students then. Those with the necessary talents to pass exams in the traditional sense...... should they be automatically rewarded ?"
nothing encourages fulfilment of potential, more than reward. |

So there are three brothers. B1 can sing and does, everyone loves it. B2 Can't sing and strives hard to be good. He makes it and everyone loves it. B3 Was the best singer of all but refused to use or develop or share his talent as he wanted to be a doctor. He becomes a satisfactory doctor.
Who should be rewarded ? |

I've already given my answer in a previous post.
Recognition of talent and/or achievement is reward. Rewards don't have to be monetary |

So ..... B1 is rewarded simply for being born with a talent ? |

Yes, you say he sings and everyone loves it, therefore his talent is recognised by others |

"But he was born with the talent.
He sings as easily as a nightingale.
As simply as you breath.
As unskilled as a chicken laying eggs."
no matter how natural,your talent.
reward makes you more likely,to share it.

But surely Natural talent is only rewarded in the same manner as any talent is….
Purely by catering to a demand that already exists or which it creates itself… and if that is the case…. again surely only the patrons of that talent have the right to choose to reward whomever supplies their demand with suitable service, whether it be born of a naturally gifted nature or be it that of someone who works hard to achieve the same level of results …. |
