British shorthair or exotic?

I grew up with a long-haired exotic. He was a sweet, cuddlesome lapcat. Since then I've had three short-haired rescue cats. One was batshit crazy in the best way and was a feisty, meddlesome yet curl up and burrow on me (including my lap) minx. The current two are still settling in but pretty chilled (other than one liking to watch me wee, which is weird). Neither is a lap cat but they like being near me - and using my foot as a pillow when I'm curled up on the sofa. |

"For house cats?"
I wasn't a cat person until I saw a post about an abandoned kitten on a local Facebook page.
I had to have him.
He's a domestic short hair in black and white with tiger stripes.
He's so loving and affectionate.

Both my two love the feet, one gets on the bed and rubs around one foot, the other doesn't get in my bed but enjoys me putting my leg out of the bed then rolls around all over my foot.
It leaves me very exposed when they're in my bedroom at the same time lol. |

"Thanks people. Would the short hair be healthier. I was worried about the possible breathing issues with the exotic
Why?
Do you have asthma? "
Haha no. I meant because their noses are sometimes quite pushed in |

Huh?
Really?!
I hadn't noticed or even known this!
I'm clearly not a cat aficionado! |

I'm genuinely confused about women, mainly women, and their love and devotion to cats because when men behave similarly, staying out all night and only interested in coming home when wanting to be fed and pampered, all hell breaks loose! |

Men tend to be bigger than cats and don't generally sleep on your feet or let you tickle their bellies and purr in delight |

I have a British Shorthair silver tabby. I can pick him up tickle his tummy and really tease him and he will tolerate it. Not a lap cat though. Likes to lie next to me and is on the bed with me now. 90% of the time he hates everyone else in the family and won't let them touch him! I think heart and breathing problems can be a problem with this breed. I think all pedegree cats are prone to one health issue or another. Healthiest cats are moggies. If I was going to get another one, I'd get a Bengal. I think they are more sociable and family orientated. |

I have a foot fetish so this statement is not entirely correct, lol, although I wouldn't sleep in them. And as for the belly being tickled, I'll purr away |

"Rescue a ginger one, they like having their bellys tickled."
Went to a couple of centres today. But they were either taken or outside cats. Plus it would be nice to have one that's fairly young |

Try Facebook market place. Often find some idiot that doesn't believe in neutering their cat. |

"Ooo I didn't think of that. I'm guessing both breeds are popular
Rescue cats are the best. You can rescue exotic breeds too. But buying kittens just fuels the crisis of cats in shelters "
Yeah I'd like to. But like I said already. They don't seem to be that available. I've my heart set on either of them |

Rescue cats every time!
I have four. One is half Siamese and is the most placid and friendly cat I have ever known. He is a lap cat and he also follows me up to bed and snuggles up to me as I fall asleep.
I have a tortoiseshell who is very sociable, very affectionate and friendly and she likes to climb on my chest, curl up and then butt my chin.
I have a long haired ginger who is also a lap cat and loves to snuggle up to me. And finally, a short haired black lady who is an independent madam, but she does occasionally snuggle up to me |

Any tips to get in their first? |

"Short-haired. Or one of those bald ones so I can knit it a wee jumper"
I really want a Sphynx. They're the best cats and look like tiny bald evil geniuses! |
