Glad you said that, I think it too but a couple of women I work with were going on raptures about it saying it's a clear sign that they take care of themselves ... errr slightly weird I felt! |

I was getting a manicure and next too me was a man getting his done .His wife had made the appointment for him as she didn't like his long nails and rough hands. |

I'm sure that long nails on a man would be more for practicality than aesthetics.
They could be used for spearing cubes of cheese or olives when the cocktail sticks are gone, tightening a loose screws, levering open paint tin lids and of course taking super hard corner kicks when playing sebuteo (if anyone still plays it)..
The list of uses could be endless and no need to spend lots on a Gerber multitool or Swiss army knife, every tool you ever need are at your fingertips.. literally.. |

Less commonplace than chewed and short but they own their own bodies presumably.
A bank teller I was served by had nails probably over 6" long - her money counting was a spectacle. But her choice and the bank presumably appreciated her work.

Aside from dipping them in bleach, they are clean, they just happened to be stained with substances that are incredibly difficult to remove.

I'm sure I saw that a long nail on the pinkie is a sign of prosperity in some countries.
To be honest it makes me feel nauseous, but that's probably because I have a weird thing for women with nice long nails and I get confused!  |

I have longish nails but not manicured.
I started doing it when I was an apprentice working with lathes, if I got too close to the chuck I would lose a finger nail rather than a chunk out if my finger. |
