This year's Stoptober ad features the line, "you can use gum, patches, and now, E-cigarettes" with someone holding a box mod.

But hadn't been passed by nhs .they are better than real cigs .But people use e cigs more than real cigs .so not sure damage this does .Nhs still only provide patches.so my opinion is depends on strength of e cig and how you use it as same damage may be happening .

I don't smoke and this is what I think .see loads with e cigs permanently in hands and mouths .

When people are still using ecigs 2/3/4 years since then claimed to have stopped smoking, they're not something I would class as a method to quit smoking.

They're 95% safer apparently than cigarettes which still means they're not 100% safe. So only a short term measure. I hate the smell of them and don't want anyone vaping near me. Plus they're still a risk to the user and passive smokers nearby.

So the 5% which is still dangerous is made of what?

What are the dangerous chemicals in them?

Yes, I think the ban on larger tanks suggests this is a problem - there is no tar etc to limit use maybe. I was also reading a paper last night on suspicions over various chemicals that are present, so the jury is still out in my book.

It's all manky!

E cigs are the same as smoking- another highly addictive substance.

Billowing big clouds of bubblegum flavoured vapour of whatever it is over everyone!

Holding it like it's a baby 24/7!

I tried convincing myself that it was better than cigarettes but it's just as gross!

Just stop.

I smoked for over 25yrs and a couple of years ago switched to vaping.

Which in my opinion was more addictive than fags!

So I went cold turkey and stopped.

I admit I turned to cheesecake but I think it's a better option

Haha Cheesecake flavour ahead of bubblegum or just actual cheesecake?

I find vaping much less addictive and i've never blown vape over people. I've had mine for 5 years this December and it's helped me massively with sport but if I didn't vape at all it would help even more.

Congrats on kicking both habits and if it was the vaping that helped I think that's a good thing and follows what the STOP people are now saying.

There has been long term studies in Sweden as they been out much longer there and all results were positive but sadly it gets brushed under the carpet.

So is recommending e-cigs to smokers the same as recommending methadone to heroin addicts?

Just need to say that they are plenty of vapers who don't use nicotine. They just enjoy it.... kinda like Coke Zero, lol

Looks like cheech and chongs car but with a fruity odour instead.

The one I use isn't one which gives out a huge cloud, it's one of the low end of the market ones as I haven't the confidance to give off a huge cloud.
