"It is very weird.
It is trying so very hard to be Star Trek and then someone sprinkled jokes all over. Some land perfectly, others ruin an otherwise great scene."
thats granted...but even remember somethings like the walking dead pilot...(or even the storyless filler episodes they still bring forth)
some shows need a little time before being either great or shit..
I really dont think the new startrek reboot(its been very controversial), willbe much better...in fact I think it'll be axed within its first season...possibly not because of the show itself..mainly because of the new IN thing is reality tv, or closer to home crime drama. |

"It's like Galaxy Quest...
Without the jokes, the late great Alan Rickman and the sheer love the writers had for the source material."

I'd argue there is definite love for the source.
Having just watched the second episode I agree with posters above that it is stronger than the first. The jokes felt a little more grounded in the episode and it told a solid Star Trek story. |

"Which channel?
dunno brain...I watch online x"
Seen the trailer on US TV while watching NFL. If Fox have only just started showing it in The States, probably be a while before a UK channel picks it up. |

Love it too, but the first 2 episodes of season 2 have been so preachy. Interesting to have Patrick Warburton as the new security guy, the girl annoyed me a bit. |

"Honestly more trek than anything released for trek in the last 20 years.
Brilliant writing. Excellent cast. "
Do you recognise the voice of the hippy alien in engineering? |

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain |
Just caught up with new season’s episodes on Sky/Fox channel.
“Home” certainly packed in the ST connections & there’s to be more with both Jonathan Frakes in directing & an appearance from Marina Sirtis coming too in upcoming episodes. |

There are a few Star Trek actors in it. Apart form the above, the baddy in "Home" was the guy who played Dr Phlox in ST Enterprise. |

Molly Hagan, who plays Alara’s mother was also in the DS9 episode “The Jem’Hadar” playing the role of Eris a Vorta agent for the Dominion. |
