Not those, you filthy minded person!

No, glossy expensive ladies magazines like Elle etc. Just spent the morning in a hospital reception flicking through a pile of such and they're just full of adverts!

Just thought I'd share and ask why people buy them?

•+• Silicon valley. •+•

they basically are catalogues, loads of brands and new stuff shoved into one place. convenient for those with an excess of income i guess.

Women's magazines are dire, they are either as you described or Jeremy Kyle for the literate. I stick to reading books.

We need them to make us feel bad about ourselves.

East Sussex

I stopped buying them about 30 years ago. They are as you say op no more than catalogues. Don't get me started on those awful things my hairdresser has that are all about celebrities.

In the mid 70s She was an excellent women's magazine. It had genuinely interesting articles, an informative column on sex and was an enjoyable read. Sadly it's gone the way of all the others.

Bedworth

Hubby subscribed to the readly app ans set up an account for me too. At first it was constantly recommending that drivel, I suspect based on nothing more than the fact that I'm a woman. A few weeks in it has learnt what I like and now recommends anglers mail, angling times, improve your coarse fishing etc

Elle & Vogue are particularly bad for adverts. One of the best magazines out is the Sainsbury's one.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I sometimes read mens mags like Mens Health, car mags, Q etc. They are equally full of adverts.

All done but some nice cooking ideas with Feta in People's Friend and how to clear algae in my fish pond using lavender cuttings!

Northampton Somewhere

I haven't bought one for years but I get the last months free if they don't sell rather than us having to send them back. I try and get the Marie Claire or Red but they are full of shit!!!
