We all have one. Mine is..
Ain't Nobody, by Chaka Khan (Hallucinogenic Mix), by Frankie Knuckles. The Godfather of House Music.
A beautiful version of the already beautiful original version.
What's yours? |

There's a few classical pieces which are dreadfully sad but it's the Kinks' 'Waterloo Sunset' which gives me goosebumps in particular as I find it very poignant. For some reason it always makes me very nostalgic for London as it used to be 30-40 years ago, my first job there, the people I'll never see again, the areas that have changed beyond all recognition, the places which no longer exist etc etc. It makes me quite teary |

Never forget where you've come from by Take That-
Always the last song at last night at the bar at Uni before it broke up.
Always takes me to a very dark depressed time in my life |

"Easy...Hazel O'Connor,Will you ?."
My first true loves song. Sadly he died many years ago. But whenever I hear Hazel singing this. I'm taken back to our shared time together. Beautiful song with some very cherished memories |

Heartland - I loved her first
My dad sand it to me as his toast at my wedding and and half way through invite me up for our father daughter dance
Gave me chills and the time and there wasn't a dry eye in the house when it ended I hugged him for what felt like an eternity yet was only really moments, still can't listen to it without bawling my eyes out thinking of how special it was |

"Nessun Dorma."
"Heir sitz" from gotterdammerung (first act)
Seen this done by matti salminen, OMG talk about dark/riveting etc.
Also seen Eric halfverson doing this as well, equally brilliant.
Just the bass singer on stage himself, sitting on a huge seat/throne, the lights go down and just a light on him.

Nimrod by Elgar never fails to move me every time it's played on Remembrance Sunday - makes me think of my Grandad and all those who served their country, some of them giving the ultimate sacrifice |

The version of it that's played throughout the film Dunkirk is particularly haunting. |

"Queen - The Show Must Go On.
He sang it knowing he was dying and died 6 weeks after the release."
My Dad chose this initially for his funeral, but changed it to I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash.
I'm glad he did, to hear The Show Go On brings a tear, but I can see Clearly Now a smile |

Amything that can make you smile when you think of someone who's passed, is always a good thing! |

The other one (ms mac knows this) that moved me to tears the first time I heard it was Bell Jar by Louise & The Pins - think it's the combination of the song and the video that does it

Lorraine Ellison, Stay With Me.
The Cure, Pictures Of You.
Audioslave, Cochise.
Soundgarden, Black Hole Sun.
Gomez, Tijuana Lady.
Ac/Dc, Highway to Hell.
All different but goosebumpy sensation inducing all the same |

The last 2 songs on Bowie's final album.
The way the music spirals as his voice just fades away whilst singing the words 'I'm dying to/ i'm dying too' during the outro to 'Dollar Days' is incredibly powerful and symbolic. The segue then into the last track 'I Can't Give Everything Away' is just amazing. That he was able to load a simple harmonica riff at the beginning of that last track with so much meaning shows what a genius he was. Very moving on a number of levels.

This is one of my absolute faves. I can't make it to the end without tears streaming. |

I was here with 1 person in front of me at this gig. This song hit me with such emotion I had goosies and tears rolling.
I still get a ball of emotion in my chest at the end when you hear the crowd sing, especially as I was part of it. |

"In The Living Years
By Mick and the Mechanics
Touching words in it makes you think about petty arguments "
Definitely.
Released just after my father died, so poignant. Still brings a tear or two. |
